GOA EDUCATION MINISTER DETAINED AT BOMBAY AIRPORT WITH HUGE AMOUNT OF INDIAN AND FOREIGN CURRENCY

MUMBAI: Controversial Goa Education minister Atanasio Monserrate was detained at the Mumbai airport in the wee hours of Saturday for allegedly carrying huge amount of foreign and Indian currency undisclosed.  Monserrate, the education minister was detained for possessing undisclosed US dollars at the airport, airport sources said adding he may have been carrying Indian currency beyond permissible limits.
He was caught with huge amounts of Indian and foreign currency beyond permitted limits for passengers traveling abroad and was about to board a flight to Dubai.
Monserrate was carrying cash worth Rs 25 lakh approximately in Indian currency and foreign currency worth Rs 1 crore approximately.
Acting on a tip-off, the customs sleuths waited for Monseratte who arrived here by a domestic flight from Goa and was reportedly planning to go to Dubai.
All the Local TV Channels of Goa are cut off from showing the live news to avoid the common man from knowing the truth,  it is reliably learnt fromclose sources all over Goa, representing North and South.
The education minister of Goa was detained by the Customs officials and has been questioned since then.  Officials from the customs and other departments were questioning him for the huge amount of cash.
According to sources in the Air Intelligence Unit of the Customs, Rs 1.16 lakh in Indian currency and equivalent of Rs 22.84 lakh in different foreign currencies have been seized from the Minister.  "He has been detained and would be released after a thorough examination of his papers. His passport will be impounded pending enquiry," sources said.
Security at the Mumbai airport has been extremely tight since the past few days in view of the World Cup final between India and Sri lanka and the heavy movement of VVIPs from India and abroad.  In February, Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan was detained at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi for allegedly carrying undeclared currency to the tune of 1.24 lakh US dollars.

  1. The cup is filled to the brim and spilled out. This rogue who put up a ghantti as a Mayor has at last been caught. Well done customes officers, though you too are thieves but you have caught the biggest thief of Goa. Well done and you deserve the praise.

  2. At last a b@#$%^/?d has been caught and by the law. Where was he taking all this money and why? Probably to stash in a bank in Dubai. Now the Indian government should investigate the Dubai government as to how these people let crooks like monserrate come to dubai and keep their money in their banks.

Now Digambar Kamat will start helping Monserrate to get out of the situation. I am sure 100% that this money surely must be going to the Swiss bank account of all the 40 thieves. Bravo customs of Mumbai.

I wish they would handcuff this maniac of Taleigao and tie him to a jeep and drag him along the road. I also hope Cowmuth, Varca Pig, Mickky Mouse, Motorcycle Pilot Ravi Naik meet with the same fate. Their time is up. Time we Goans close on them.

Having spent almost four crores of rupees in the Panjim elections, this Idiot must have reaped financial returns from the Ghanti's whom he supported. He certainly was taking the Goan's blood money to invest it on other Goan Crumb eaters in Dubai to buy his next invitation to a Tiatr. Goans who have elected this illiterate FATHER of a RAPIST should bury themselves in shame. The next one is Chorchill to follow.

Next time if he happens to maintain his portfolio he will get caught in Karnataka after making Kannada also as MOI. Goans please watch out

  10. Wonder how the law will take its course of action against a Minister. Here people sweat it out to make a living and save a few bucks, on the other side our Ministers are carrying money way beyond a common mens dreams, that too just in a briefcase, what a life! Hope there will be justification to this amount and even if justified what is the sentence, as this is a crime which ever way you look at it.

If not he will spill the beans to protect his own skin. Every thief has its day so will the pig of Varcs Chorchill who is trying to destroy Mopa and other parts of Goa. The looters of Goa have deposited their stolen loot all over the world mainly Europe and Arabian Gulf. Monster rat and chorchil (the pig of Varca)are no exception being the least educated they have accumulated their wealth selling Goan Land to outsiders. They should have tires put round their necks and set on Fire.

  15. This poor guy is not as smart as Parrikar- the MEGA LOOTER. Poor guy should learn from Manohar Parrikar how to loot and cover the tracks very well as well as how and where to stash away the loot. Look at the BJP MLAs running their drug business through rave parties, matka business, prostitution rackets without getting caught - courtesy the training by PARRIKAR. (IIT education certainly helps). Otherwise see how the little mouse Damu Naik has shifted from a ramshackle house to a palatial bungalow even while being in the opposition for almost his entire tenure as MLA. Does anyone know how? By selling soft drinks or lotteries????????

Motor-cycle pilot Naik,circus-clown mickey mouse, pig Chorchill,Mulla Digambara, Jinga-mami king of Zuarinagar Mauvin are all foolish and shoot their mouth too often and get caught. KUMPAR Luisinho was the only Congressman who looted and looted and sold GOA to GHANTTIS without getting caught. He had a very good agent in the current CEC Modassir.

However there are a few gentlemen in the current crop of 40 MLAs and we should refrain from painting all with the same brush. Reginald Loureenco is one.

But what else can we expect from our MLAs when they buy our votes and we sell our votes? Aren't we the electorate equally corrupt?

The capital has a Ghanti as a Mayor installed My the looter of Goans from Taleigao, and now he was taking his Ghanti reward to be invested with the Arabs. It is sad to say Goans could not elect honest decent people to power. We have a long uphill political battle on our hands to restore Goa to its former Glory. I hope they lock the father of the rapist in Arthur road Jail, No but Kamat will soon wipe his slate clean.

  17. What I like most is all these politicians who commit crimes get away very lightly, they and their families commit rape, murder, deal in drugs, land scams, extortion and the list goes on. Just last week a UK MP was jailed for 16months for a smaller crime which is a drop in the ocean compared to crimes committed by Goan ministers. Very soon the illiterate criminal MLA of Taleagao and the CM will claim he was framed. "Wake up Goans and use your brains, it our tax money that is being looted by this and other criminal politicians.

What is the sentence for the Illiterate Chor of Taleigao, will he get away? Definitely the godfathers from the central government who are hell bent on destroying Goa and our way of life will rescue him. Unless we learn to eliminate these 40 Chors through our Voting system Goans will see the end for themselves.

I doubt the judicial system in Goa has what it takes to bring corrupt politicians to justice.Goa is being raped and looted by these political thugs and yet they will be in Power again voted by their crumb eaters.

  21. This was just a small fly in a big ocean, he will go un-noticed, scot free in a few days. That wasn't his money, it was planted by his opponents to defame him....that will solve his problem. More stories will follow and yet to come. Goans, don't get fooled every single day, wake up. There will be some people who will claim that this Monster Rat is too intelligent, he will get through. This is your money that is transported outside Goa every single day. Open your eyes and realise that there are many more Monster Rats in the Goa who fool you every day. The Crumb Eaters around the World invite these thieves, looters and immorals to be the Cheap Guests or Guests of Honour and that is laready seen in Dubai almost every month. What Monster Rat was carrying was negligible compared to what he must have carried when he was the TCP Minister. This was the last loot from the last CCP elections he got from Ghanti Mayor.
Goans, wake up and make your own assessment. Look at Chorchill how may times he travel to Dubai to be the Cheap guest. Look at tyhe Leitao how she is taken to Dubai and elsewhere as the reps of Goans. They are not, you are your own future if you vote wisely, vote forn the right person. do not accept crumbs and political lollipops. Save yourself before you save us, before you save Goa. Do not vote for these Chors of the Porvorim Zoo. Be wise, get off from you deep slumber, this is just one open example.

  33. Goan past and present elected politicians could have steered Goa to a better future, the rich Goan tradition and culture could have made Goa a state of the art place. Being God fearing people Goan politicians turned their backs on Goans and embraced Corrupt Indian central government culture . Goans have been robbed of their god given rights and sold to Non-Goan THE GHANTIS. The result of that can be seen by the what MonsterRat of Taleigao has done in Panjim electing Ghanti as Mayor. This has been done as a mockery to true Goans.

    http://corruptiongoa.blogspot.com/

    Hello
all Goans in Goa and settled elsewhere, now you have the right to vote as NRI hurry and register with your respective foreign missions. It is time to act and act fast, before it is too late.
And do not encourage the clemaos of Varca and their kit and kin who are looting Goa at these very point of time, corruption has hit a new height thanks to clemaos and their daughters and sons.

The Clemao who is trying to get elected from benaulim constituency is the treasure trove of his father ill gotten wealth.
But she is cautious about the PWD contractors lest they have spy cameras and spy pens with them, When the contractors come to meet her with their briefcases full of money, to be delivered to her father.
She or her staff ensures that suspect looking things like watches suspicious looking pens and all other modern gadgets which can be put to use as spy cameras are kept outside her cabin.

Remember the sting operation which was conducted on the south MP by Telekha in Delhi, it still haunts the clemaos and the lawyer daugther of clemao is seen in the sting operations.
But after all the buzz it fizzled out like all scandals in India.
so coming back to the present, here we have the contractor and no sting operations.
So then enters the contractor or his agent with a brief case in two and she promptly empties, and she has installed a MONEY COUNTING MACHINE in her office.
So there goes the sound of the crisp notes fluttering against the machine. She then puts the money into her bag and the empty brief case is handed over to the contractor/ agent.

so benauliars beware you may be breeding one of the most corrupt politician woman of Goa following on her father’s footsteps, the father ever since he stepped into a vehicle called PWD has stepped up the pace of corruption in high gear and there is no chance of stopping him, with a timid chief minister Digamber Kamat all out to save him.
So get your boxing gloves and get prepared for the elections.
It is time to kick out the corrupt and also time to show the kit and kit of the corrupt politicians their place in the sun read home.

  43. I fail to understand why the IT department cannot track these transactions. Is the volume so large that computing it is a problem or is it that these very money launderers have a blessing from the very department that audits their Income ? or could it be once a minister, you are above the Income tax and source of Income law? I bet there is not a single minister who can justify the wealth they have amassed. For sure it will be difficult to prove it as most of them have carried their looted wealth in brief cases to foreign banks and stacked it there and some have the wealth registered under family members or under fictitious names to avoid the radar. In the past so many raids have been conducted on prominent political figures, on IAS officers, police officers not to mention even the officers in the anti corruption department and yet the ultimate results go in their favour. How does this work out and why does this work out in their favour. Beyond doubt, either some are immune to the law or the very people who are deployed to investigate are also a part of that very gang.

Said to say; Goan politics will only change if couple of these 40 chores is assassinated, or all 40 of them are eliminated by Goan electorate. One or two independent candidates will not make a change, as these chores have enough black money to bribe them on their side. In Goa you could be elected as a poor candidate and get rich overnight. The two main anti-Goan parties are BJP and Congress.
