MARGAO: The Additional District and Sessions Judge, South Goa, Mr Justice Desmond D’Costa was placed under suspension on Wednesday. The order to this effect has been issued by the Registrar General of Bombay High Court and it was issued on February 7, 2011. "The suspension order will come into effect from the service of the order. You stand suspended pending inquiry," the order says.
The order was served on Mr Justice D’Costa on Wednesday evening while he was in his office at Margao. Charges on which he is placed under suspension could not be ascertained.
Mr Justice D’Costa earlier served as the president of the Children’s Court, Panjim and thereafter he was transferred to Margao as the Additional District and Sessions Judge.
Meanwhile, the South Goa Advocates Association has decided to convene a meeting on Thursday on this issue. A press note issued by the president of the Association, Mr Anacleto Viegas says that the legal fraternity in Goa is totally upset with the news of the suspension of Mr Justice Desmond D’Costa. The news that he has been placed under suspension for dispensing justice in custody criminal case in 20 days is unkindness cut of all, says the press note.
Well Done! Desmond is hand picked Judge of Goa,a former student activitiest of PSU and a staunch supporter of Chor mafia Luizinho Faleiro. He is known as most corrupt judge after Britto. Now, watch out who is supporting him another chor Annadi(Anacleto Gracias)a member of Goa criminal gang who ruined the UGDP for their personal benefits. These first class bastard Anacleto,Radharao,Auda Gracias,Chorchill,Luizinho,Mickey Mouse,Sardinha are very dangerous criminals fooling Goans for very long time...Goan should Teach them Lesson by electing NG candidates.
ReplyDeleteThe suspension of Hon Shri Desmond D'Costa is shocking for all those Lawyers and public who know this honest and forthright Judge. He has an impeccable reputation of being honest and a man of integrity. He has been victimised as happens to most of honest persons these days.It appears that some seniors who are working as agents of the corrupt power brokers do not like the honest persons and reported against him on flimsy grounds of giving clean chit to Mahanandu--the serial killer. The Judge is bound to give justice based on the evidence before him and it is the fault of the investigating agencies for which an honest person is made to suffer.
ReplyDeleteIt is good that the Advocates Association is taking the case seriously as they did in case of the other suspended Judge-Anuja. Such actions are a blot on the impartial functioning of the system.
Will the authorities disclose everything to the people as the transparency is the essence of a good democratic system...??? Will they avoid injustice?
Advocate Association is led by criminal nature person so definitely when their brother in arm got suspended the criminal Anacleto Veigas will do everything to install him back to deny justice to the deserved people.Desmond was apprehended by his seniors many times for wrong judgment probably after accepting bribes but with his political support he continue to indulge in malpractice...Goan Judges should be transferred outside Goa so that the local politicians could not take advantage of them to deliver favourable judgement for them & their breadcrumb eaters as in the Drug Nexus case.
ReplyDeleteMario does not seem to known what he is writing or he has got his facts all mixed up. Judge Desmond D'costa is not only an upright judge but a person of impeccable integrity.
ReplyDeleteMario might have right to his opinion but he does have a right to be wrong with his facts.
It’s very obvious Judge D'costa is giving some sleepless nights to the high and mighty of Goan political class. He has always been a fighter in life and will remain that way without any blemish. A true champion of the people rights.
ReplyDeleteMananada case is like open and shut case. And we all know how truthful Goa Police is. Cipriano is still fresh in our minds.
As a student leader Judge Desmond D’Costs was a thorn in many politicians backside. He was one of the few what was beaten during the student’s agitation. We won the cause but physical abuse was the price by the law enforcers and transport operators. Although I have not met him for years, It is hard for me to believe he is a party to the corrupt regime.
ReplyDeleteDesmond D'costa is a man of SUBSTANCE smart and intelligent. He is one of the few who exercises his duties with a sense of responsibility. Throughout his career he was First class first and with his sincere and hard work he climbed the rungs of the ladder to become a judge. We goans are proud of him. His verdict was apt based on the merit of the case. How can he be held responsible for accquiting Mahananda. This shows that the INVESTIGATING Agency has slipped up in providing enough evidence to prove him guilty. This is height of injustice. WRONG MOVE TO SUSPEND DESMOND D'COSTA...
ReplyDeleteIt is a clear cut story where Judge's have to play to the politicians fiddle or else they are penalised. Desmond is a victim of not playing ball to the corrupt system.
ReplyDeleteWho will save Goa from the corrupt system? When will the true liberation take place? Indian Invasion is not a true Liberation. It is the corrupt that thrive and honest are put down. Goans specially crumb eaters wake up and fight this system of evil that has been bestowed upon us by the Indians.
ReplyDeleteMario, you got proof or even an ounce of evidence to back your allegations?if so, then please let us also know. Saying chamcha, corrupt is quite easy these days, but useless without proof.Barring a few writers on this blog, most of the accusations on all politicians/police is pure hearsay and he said she said talk. The allegations might be true, but without proof or evidence it only good for time pass and nothing else.
ReplyDeleteObviously Judge Desmond did not bend to the rules of the corrupt regime, We do have good people in Goa, but they need our support to continue their honest duties unobstructed. Goa is falling apart Law and order has collapsed, our Goan politicians crumb eating brethren are partly responsible. It is the responsibility of our Goan educated youth to educate their elders into voting the right candidates to power.
ReplyDeleteJudge Desmond is distinguished and of the highest calibre. His honesty has cost him the suspension, as the superiors are corrupt as the ministers of Goa. If he is not reinstated the Goans must be on the streets in his support. As a student leader he stood up for many causes which the students of today have benefited. Leaders of his calibre do not exist in Goa. Today’s upcoming leaders once in power follow the money trail.
ReplyDeleteSome nuts go to squirrels, some nuts go to mental asylums. This nut, Mario landed on this forum. Forgive him for he knows not what he is speaking.
