UGLY FANATICS! by Joel Morais, Cuncolim

We all are proud Goenkars.Konkani comes in our blood through our mother's milk. We are been fed with English since our birth and I can proudly say that our children had got very good command over the same. Goenkars are been known internationally as decent citizens of India and our behavior has been appreciated by the world.
The statement by Bhatikar, who I believe is running a English medium school in Goa,saying that those demanding English as a Medium of Education are doing so to become ayas.butlers, cooks, drivers is really not harmful or hurting but it confirms, what class Bhatikar belongs to.We are sincere to our profession and never turned out to be chamchas like Bhatikar of the people in power to succeeded in life.
For the information of Batikar,we are not demanding for English as a medium of Instruction but we are fighting for our right. There were nothing called as Konkani medium Schools in Goa when I cleared my SSC in the year 1989.Konkani was not even a mandatory subject and in reality it was/is not necessary according to me.Goa had the best Education system in our Country, English was the medium of Education, choice between konkani,Marathi,French etc and Hindi was mandatory as it is our National language but fanatics like Shashikala Kakodkar ruined the system in the name of grants at the time of PDF government headed by Dr Luis Proto Barbosa of which the so called fake leader of masses, Churchill was also a minister.
By acting like a fanatic, Bhatikar will only lose his respect. We know what is best for our children. You can get your English medium school converted to Konkani medium and take care of the grand and great grandchildren of Shashikala not forgetting yours. One of the catholic Priests who is supporting you all fanatics will recommend some.

  1. Who is Bhatikar to use derogatory comments against Goans. This half headed IDIOT is only fit to run a brothel at Varca , where he can his wife or daughters, Alemaos' wife and daughters, Barbosa' daughters and Shasikala as prostitutes. As there is no shame to do any job and feed himself; it's a shame to cheat others and lead a shameless life.

  2. The christians in Goa have always been suppressed konknes as they were popularly called goa. I know how I was treated whenever I went for the interview in some of the bussiness houses in Goa. These konknes use run the businesses in all areas such as grocery, cloth merchants etc. And the poor christian men use work in the field and for the landlords. Today it is a different case many christens in recent years are well educated in English and are fit to work any part of the world as their english is world class and not hinglish as is spoken in the rest of India. During my younger days only konknes use to own a car especially the doctors, and the christians use to own a bycyle at the most even that was not possible for some. But Most of our parents thought that it will not be possible to educate their children in certain professional fields decided to go to gulf and work at ship. Today in goa christian are well educated holding good post as chairmen, directors and talking about the shipping line they have become Captains, chiefengineers, officers and what not. Today this Bhatikar will be out of business if governments starts giving to english medium schools he will have close down his school and will have to survive on whatever little pension he is getting. And this Mrs Shashikala who has for longtime been supporting the marathi cause has a hedden agenda and that is to merge Goa with Maharastra. Bjp is the same if they come to power the first thing they will do is make marathi the official language of Goa. We all have the bitter taste of how they sponserd the attack on bhisops palace etc. So just watchout.

Mr. Bhatikar proved how hypocrate he is. I want to ask him why he is running English Medium School first of all?. Why don't he have Konkani medium school and will see whether he is able to continue his school or will have to close it down forever. This shows he wants to make money and on the other hand he wants to show his love for Konkani. To make cheap comments on working class like ayas, butlers, cooks and drivers, after all they are professional by their own means. These class of workers are not agent of Govt. who take underhand money. May be Bhatikar himself may be involved as agent of MGP, BJP and of course RSS CM to make some noise in the name of MOI.

Those who complete their studies at Bhattikar's English medium school, do they become ayahs, butlers, cooks and drivers only? And what is wrong in demanding English as one of the mediums of instruction to qualify for the grant-in-aid?

  5. Mr. BUTTikar says ""The students who master this language in their graduation should strive hard to develop the language because every Goan loves the language as it shows their identity as Goemkars," said Mr Bhatikar." - Its Goenkar's Mr. BUTTi not Goemkars,

And true to the word every Goan loves his One and only Mother Tongue - Konkani, but like BUTTikar said, that every student should strive hard and Graduate in his/her native language, will Mr. BUUTika give all these Graduating Student Jobs? Probably in the Government Sector, at least Marathi won’t be used anymore, besides that what other Jobs will he offer the Students that Graduated????

I come across Keralitie’s here abroad who are Graduates in Malayalam, also interviewed quite a few for Jobs, they can’t speak a work of English in spite of being Graduates, and they are a laughing stock here, we can’t even offer them a Office Boy Position, as it needs basic English Read/Write…. So what do these Keralities do? They take odd jobs, Do you want the fate of Children to be this way Mr. BUTTikar? Its simple common sense, but what to do if your so busy thinking through your BUTT and not your Head….

  6. Are woh Bhartikar kiteak Goankarancher KALANK zaipa utla re?...Bhatokarocho calor mhaka dista Bandokaran Kadla!!!! Taka Konkani zalach paije korun Marathi dorum zai dista!!..

Our right to choose MOI as noted ny Mr Joel Moraes... Is the Goa Goverment and Goa Assembly run in Konkani???"Where are Jobs for learning Konkani..will Konkani provide Jobs for Goans on Cruise liners,Dubai hotels and hospitality in Goa,Call centre in Mumbai..Even House maids and CSR Jobs in the Gulf now require English.

Now Goverment have to be wise and recognize ..Konkani is symbolic and has vital cultural and heritage value so since it a part of Goan identity it has to preserved to exercise under our constitutional right by running the Goverment in Konkani and enforcing compulsary subject for promption at primary level in schools.

Goa Goverment has to act wise as it can resolve the problem of unemployment in the state by enforcing MOI in English at the same timee protect for Goan identity.

But -Alas How can the Kamat Goverment think and act likewise with 40 uneducated corrupt dopes are very busy in scams under LOOT MAR hallucination which has lost insight and vision in Goan day to day affairs of the people of Goa.

Hence Goverment has made life horrible for Goans ....GOANS PLEASE GO AGAIN AND VOTE for THE SAME MLA'S AND TAKE VOTE GOODIES from them AND PLEDGE YOUR SOUL and MORTGAGE YOUR FAMILY AND CHILDRENS FUTURE and then you learn Konkani and Tamil and Malyalam and then you can be multi enthic and multu lingual and est with both the hands.

I think English is not meant for bigots or hypocrats...Konkani is the best for them.

Whatever happens we must not let Ghanti lovers to dictate our Goan education system. My children studied in a Catholic run school and graduated in English universities and are better mannered in suited for international markets. Therefore my support is for those parents who are seeking English Medium for their children. English and Konkani should be taught side by side, eliminating all non-Goan languages.

  10. Anand..support GRA and prop up CLEAN THIRD FRONT GOVERMENT RUN BY EDUCATED GOANS..for better recourse of Goan politics and its future on all fronts.

MOI is our fundamental right to education by choice which the goverment is denying Goans.
The Cowmuth Goverment is now hoodwinking Goan Parents by making KONKANI LANGUAGE as a SCAPEGOAT..Goan Parents be focussed on MOI as English and we make sure that Konkani is in its place to protect our Niz Goemkarponn.

For Goans - Konkani is symbolic and has vital cultural value and heritage importance and a significant part of Goan identity it has to preserved by all means to exercise under our constitutional right of self determination by running the Goverment in Konkani and enforcing Konkani as a compulsary subject for promotion at primary level in schools and respecting people choice of conducting schooling in English as MOI...because Goans can compete and work in Goa and with the world as the two Major Industries ( Tourism/hospitality & Mining) of Goa are run in English speaking and writing Customers of Europe and China and not in Konkani and Hindi.

As it is Goa Goverment cant provide Jobs neither opportunities for Goans ..By denying Education in English, the goverment is further destabilizing Goans in their own land. Or Goverment is favoring to a big Lobby of private English Schools operators for huge kickbacks or regular Haftas

It clear now that the Cowmuth Goverment intention remains to subdue Goans by denying them quality MOI education in English so that Goans remain incompetent and uneducated lot so that they cant understand their corrupt policies and then its is easy for 40 theives to manipulate Goans at their will and remain in power just like the recent CCP elections.

High time to strip of the 40 portfolios of their bad decision making powers only limited for maintainence of the state and on a fixed budget and balance for development which should be based on 5 year plan approved by referendum or opnion poll by the people of Goa from Panchayat Level.
Why ??becoz Instead of serving ... The 40 Ministers are preparing, deciding ,imposing and enforcing their corrupt rules and unacceptable policies on Goans to amass wealth and power. for themselves to further displace and destabize Goans in their own land.

We need another opinion Poll to install procedure changes in the Goan Legislative Assembly system to curtail all such powers which allows the 40 theives gang up and to RULE or rather ALLOW THEM TO RULE US rather than serve the Goan Legislative Assembly and restore it back to the people of Goa into their Panchayats Ghars for their future recourse. Such a method is in some European nations. eg :already Goa RP2011 is a case study

I DONT THINK I COULD HAVE WRITTEN THE ABOVE IF I WOULD NOT HAVE DONE MY SCHOOLING IN ENGLISH..

As far as Uday Bhembre is concerned...he is a ...
    1.Failed MLA
    2.Failed Newspaper Editor (SUNAPARANT)
He fails to understand that he no longer shines. He is viewed by most educated Goans as a " Dullard"

Here below, for convinience is the meaning:
    1. dull·ard (dlrd)
    n.
A person regarded as mentally dull; a dolt.

    2.dullard [ˈdʌləd]
    n
    a dull or stupid person
