GOANS HAVE NO PROPER ELECTRICITY IN HOUSES BUT SWAPNIL NAIK OUT TO ILLUMINATE PERNEM BEACHES

MAPUSA: The director of Tourism, Mr Swapnil Naik has said that beaches in Pernem would soon be illuminated as the tourism department has already sanctioned ` 25 lakh to the electricity department to erect new fixtures.  Goans do not have proper electricity in their houses a fact that has been ignored by the current corrupt government of Goa and now they are out to illuminate the beaches.
Interestingly, the tourism department had some months back mooted a plan to illuminate beaches in Goa, which were in darkness and beaches in Pernem like Keri, Mandrem, Morjim and Arambol have been in darkness for quite a long time and anti-social activities are increasing due to this situation. "Within the next fifteen days, the electricity department would be receiving from us an amount of ` 25 lakh, for setting up new electric fixtures on Pernem beaches. This time we are careful to see that such fixtures be installed that are easy to maintain and therefore we have not gone in for high-mast lamps as these are difficult to maintain," Mr Naik informed.
He said that all necessary approvals with regard to sanctioning the amount have been obtained.  Mr Naik said that on beaches in Bardez, there already existed fixtures that were lying broken and these would be repaired in due course of time.
He added that he has been receiving complaints from some coastal panchayats that anti-social elements were damaging the lighting systems provided, so that there is darkness in which they could carry on with their mischief.
The worst hit beach in this regard is the Vagator beach where there is pitch darkness. The helipad is completely engulfed in darkness after sunset and tourists who arrive here prefer to leave soon. Except for a high-mast lamp that is sometimes not operational, there is no other source of illumination here.
A few lamps have been put up by the department in co-ordination with the panchayat after insistence from some shopkeepers, but these lamps also do not provide the required illumination.  "At Vagator, there are fixtures but these have to be repaired. The electricity department is being informed about this," said Mr Naik. He clarified that as of now there was no proposal to erect new fixtures at Vagator, but only to repair the existing ones.

Donkeys like Swapnil Naik loot the electricity of the Goans to provide the foreigners on the beaches the Indians who are occupying our Industrial areas etc. Someone should tell this monkey Swapnil that he should be giving light to all the houses in Goa that do not have them and make sure there is regular supply of it. Swapnil is promoting odd things now. First the BIKINI and now ILLUMINATING the beaches.

  2. A donkey like Swapnil Naik want to loot the Goans in the name of tourism . A fat pig Chorchill disconnected the public taps inorder to save the water and sell to the South Goan Hotels. Our Goans should take the example of KAP and take the law in their own hand as this is the only way to survive in our LOST GOA. The irresponsible politicians have taken succegad Goans for a piggy ride.

  3. The Concerned minister and the Electricity department are out to waste the tax payers money. How many times have we seen expensive fixtures put up but half the time they do not work as the electricity department falls short of spares or manpower to repair these lights and half the time the power lines are dead.Who really gains from these deals God alone knows. I am not advocating that these developments should not be done. They are needed for the promotion of tourism . All i am asking is to set the basic infrastructure right first and then plan to build castles in the air. .........................This is nothing but an ill planned move and a waste and abuse of tax payers money.

There is no doubt that beaches need illumination as dark beaches invite anti-social activities, which make them unsafe. And in this era of megabucks and kickbacks, Rs. 25 lakhs is not a small amount and could be of great help for "development".

Providing sustained electric power to houses may not be a priority for the aam admi government, unless it is a house of a migrant or a non-Goan. Like the admi who force ripens the aam and, thus, becomes the real aam admi. Am I right?

  5. According to the Corrupt Aleixo equeira, the whole of Goa is fully electrified and there are no power failures. According to the people of Goa, this Power Minister is blind, deaf and dumb who wakes up only in Casinos around the World to pour in looted money in the slot machines.
