Young people committing suicide....very sad. What is shocking is to see the ages of some of these youngsters. They see no hope for the future. Do you blame them? How can they afford to buy a small property to raise a family...the prices are only affordable to the wealthy elite of Delhi, Mumbai etc. How can a Goan boy make any money working as a waiter or a cook in the Tourist Industry and then be able to afford to buy a flat and raise a family. Impossible!!! And sadly nobody seems to notice. If we care about our culture and identity we need to make it possible for young Goans to be able to afford property to raise a family. Unfortunately we have a weak trait....one of the most deadly sins recorded in Rome for the Christians...a sin called GREED....the seventh most deadly sin! People in Goa don't bother they want to make the most so that they can show off. And in the meanwhile our young people are ending their lives by hanging or drowning. Does anyone care??
ReplyDeleteAgree with you Trevor, the first 2 cases are not very clear, who they really were, if they were of Goan Origin, as for the 3rd, think he deff. is not a Goan, we Goans have become Aliens in our own Lands... but there is Hope... We can make it possible... just need the Unity and Blesings of the Goan People...
