TURKISH NATIONAL DIES AT ANJUNA BEACH

PANJIM: Turkish national Sezgin Gondis, 31, who arrived in Goa with five friends on Wednesday was found in an unconscious state at Anjuna beach on Thursday morning. He was later declared brought dead in a private hospital where his friends took him for treatment.
Police sources said, "His friends revealed that in the evening, they went to the beach for a drink and drank several bottles till the wee hours of Thursday morning. Later, as they were tired and had not checked into any hotel, they decided to sleep on the beach."
According to the police, Gondis' friends have ruled out foul play, and claimed they had not consumed drugs on the beach.  "There are no injury marks on the body of the foreign national. The doctor at the private hospital where he was rushed to said Gondis might have died of a heart attack. His friends, however, state he had no history of any health problem," police sources said.
Anjuna police have registered a case of unnatural death. "We are investigating the case and have sent the body to Goa Medical College (GMC) and Hospital for postmortem," Anjuna PI Manjunath Dessai said.
Gondis, who was on a tourist visa, had planned to stay in Anjuna for about three days as he loved music and parties, police said. The group was planning to proceed to Kochi. Anjuna police have written to the foreigner's registration office in Panjim to inform the Turkish consulate about their national's death in Goa.
