PANJIM: The police-politician-drug mafia nexus case cannot be investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as it "lacks manpower" and has "constraints of local language", its officials Tuesday told the Panjim bench of the Bombay High Court.
The federal investigation agency said this in a letter issued to the union ministry of personnel which was placed before Justice SC Dharmadhikari and Justice FM Reis.
The High Court is hearing a petition filed by a student leader for a CBI probe in Goa's drug mafia-police-politician nexus, in which home minister Ravi Naik's son Roy has been linked to, by the international media and the Opposition.
Refusing to take up the drug nexus probe, CBI Superintendent (Special Crime Branch) Pramod Mudbhatkal has said in his letter to the deputy secretary of the department of personnel and training (DOPT): "The local police have better facilities/infrastructure and local language would not be a barrier to them."
"Whereas, the officers of the CBI would have constraints of local language, topography, etc.," he added.
There is also lack of manpower in the CBI as many cases have been referred to it by the Supreme Court and other constitutional courts, Mudbhatkal said, adding that the drug nexus case had no inter-state ramifications.
National Students Union of India (NSUI) president Sunil Kavthankar, who filed the petition, was also brutally assaulted by unidentified people days after he started a signature campaign in the students community to demand a central probe in the drug nexus case.
Several policemen as well as two Israeli drug dealers were arrested and subsequently released on bail after a Swedish model and a former girlfriend of a drug dealer uploaded on a popular video upload site incriminating videos in which the drug dealer was seen speaking of how police sell drugs to them.
The model, Lucky Farmhouse, had also said in an interview to an Israeli newspaper that Naik's son Roy had links with Yaniv Benaim alias Atala, a drug dealer. – IANS
Should we now re-name the CBI as "CENTRAL BUREAU OF INVALIDS"?
ReplyDeleteIs this the day Justice died.?
ReplyDeleteI
t is truly unbelieveable that an organisation or outfit like The C.B.I. (Criminal Bureau of Investigation), have filed a statement in a Court stating they are unable to deal with the Goa Police-Politician Drug Nexus.
The reasons the give are truly shocking and unbelievaable.
Considering there are Pakistani Terrorists operating, Pan India, which includes Goa,how can they use language as a barrier. How do the deal with all the inter-state scams that are going on.
Perhaps at this stage, and as it is a hot topic in Goa,I should specify that if everyone in India was taught in the English Medium, it would have helped.
Is it a fact that transalators are not available in Goa or the whole of India.?
They then suggest that the Drugs do not have an impact or inter-State ramifications.
I guess they must think we grow a lot of Poppy in Goa from which Heroin,Marijuana and other drugs are made and is derived or have huge orchards of Cannabis.I would be uterly surprised and so would a Botanist that such plants grow in a climate like Goa.
Everyone knows in Goa that all the drugs that are impounded, be it from Indian,Nepalis, Nigerians or Israelis come from other States.Mostly Northern States.
I guess with this statement from the CBI, all corrupt Politicians(nearly al Goan MLA`s) and drug cartels will now have a field day carrying out their nefarious trade in the knowledge that they will never be investigated.
Surely this cannot be accceptable.
If modern day India cannot find the resources to employ personnell to Investigatge serious crimes, what are the Citizens to expect.?
As this news broke out , I am sure all the corrupt & criminal Goa Ministers and most notably Ravi Naik & his son must have had a huge celebration.Mickky too must have popped over to Kentuckee Restaurant to have a drink and indulge in some pleasurable sexual activities.
Churchill too must have upped his Commission fees and advised his big lipped daughter Valanka , the new looter of Benaulim to increase her commission under the disguise of Social Work. This loot also helps him & her give donations to the "Churchills lackeys" & his corrupt Goans based in Dubai.
I guess the Indian Government will only consider increasing the CBI personnell, only after there is another 26/11.
This is why all Goans should demand "special status", so that we can have our own in-house CBI.
