PANJIM: The Public Works Department Minister, Mr Churchill Alemao, has said that his department has been making efforts and striving hard to raise capacity for supplying adequate potable water to the people in the state and that a number of schemes for augmenting water supply are underway in the state.
Responding to the issues raised by the members of the state legislative assembly, during discussion on demands for PWD held by him, Mr Alemao said that the department is aware of the water shortage in some parts of the state even as he assured that water supply to Mapusa and Porvorim would be improved by next month.
He also told the House that he is serious in setting up a water treatment plant at Guirim and raw water from Tillari irrigation project that would flow in by next year would be used for the purpose. He said that the project proposal has already been prepared and is being scrutinised.
He also said that JAICA project would be undertaken in the state with a view to improve sewerage system particularly in areas of Porvorim, Mapusa and coastal areas of Bardez. He also said that a central scheme for improving sanitation in the villages would also be implemented in the state.
Mr Alemao further said that his department has also given priority for improvement of roads in the state and construction of bridges and added that a number of bridges, including one at Diwar, Terekhol, etc would be taken up for construction.
He also said that work on widening of National Highways 4A and 17 would also be taken up and necessary realignments would be done. As regards to water shortage in Mapusa and Porvorim as pointed out by Mr Francisco D’Souza and Mr Dayanand Narvekar respectively, the PWD Minister said that he would hold a public meeting to ascertain the charges.
The leader of opposition, Mr Manohar Parrikar pointed out that water shortage problem in the state should be sorted out by having a proper co-ordination between the PWD, Water resources department and electricity department.
He also pointed out as to why the loan for the JAICA project is not reflected in the state budget. The PWD Minister was praised by most of the members of the House for his handling of the department and attending to the issues. The members, however, pointed out delay in execution of works.

Stop your NARAR MEGA project MR RAJA CHOR, maybe then they will be more water for us Goans! This 'illiterate' has no vision to find water for us Goans, when are our people going to wake up? A few tanks of water and they will throw their vote away for this CHOR to keep looting. This is what the cunning politicians do, they make the people 'dependant' on them. This is the crooked way to keep themselves in power. I didn't even read the article as it is all bogus. Just like his 'fake' social worker daughter….she has strings attached, votes…..how can we tell our people that these people are fooling them? It is insulting to the people to treat them like idiots.
ReplyDeleteChorchill is one perosn in Goa who is working very-very hard for the benefit of his own pocket and family members. He also protect his crumb eaters, some of them by rewarding plum posts or lisence to loot. Somehow, he is one of the best Robinhood of Goa. Nowadays, he is even struggling harder to get more work done so more commission can be accumulated before the elections, there is no guarantee of his re-election in the next assembly elections. He is also working hard to project his leitao daughter as the next Saviour of the Masses like the piglet of Betalbatim / Arrosim who claims to be the wife of Ratol Mickey does. Chorchill will work hard or else what will he do in the coming years to come with no "haram ka income"? People should be wiser to throw out these 40 Alibaba's of Goa, their family members should never be voted to power. Those should include the Ranes of Sattari who has ruined that taluka for ages. The police system of Goa needs a complete overhaul or else, Goa will be the next Mexico on Earth.
ReplyDeleteThe harder Chorchill works, the water gets harder, just like ice fruit.
ReplyDeleteChorchill working hard or hardly working. For how many terms is he in the Goa Assembly ? This shows how hard he is working. Any efficient peron would have completed all the work by now. Very soon we may see a Tsunami type of situation in South Goa. The Selaulim Dam may give way due to blastings in the mines. They have given licences to many new mines owners which are not even 500 meters away from the dam site. This is as per the reply given in the recent Assembly .
ReplyDeleteIt is more important for these ministers including Churchill to build Mega Projects to house non-Goans then develop Goa's infrastructure. Goans cannot be fooled by these Crooked Ministers, Elections are nearing and false promises are on the rise. Yet Goans will vote the same persons to power
ReplyDeleteThe chorchill of Varca who represents Navelim and supports Mega housing Projects should divert all Sewer pipes to Varca and other Mega housing projects he has supported.Varca is due a sewer treatment Plant.
ReplyDeleteThere is non stop water supply and electricity in the Ghanti slums aided by Churchill and Kamat. By doing so they have created permanent vote Banks to support their own causes. These have not benighted the true Goans.
ReplyDeleteYes, there is a hous in Novangully that can be notified for the purpose of a sewer treatment plant. The main resident of this property is a sewer himself.
ReplyDeleteI came across loads of idiots but never seen an IDIOT AS CHORCHILL .
