PANJIM: A four-year-old girl died in hospital in the wee hours of Monday, hours after she was found unconscious in mysterious circumstances at Goa's first and only shopping mall here, an official said Tuesday. A spokesman for the Caculo Mall said that the death was not accidental.
The deceased Sharvari Kamat's parents were shopping Sunday afternoon, when the girl was found unconscious near the children's play zone at the mall, which was inaugurated earlier this month and billed as Goa's first shopping mall.
Interestingly, a senior police officer said that no complaint was filed by the parents of the deceased. "We are aware of the incident. But the girl's parents insisted they did not want to pursue the matter," a police officer said here.
Sameera Kazi, chairperson of the state commission for children, said that information obtained officially by her Tuesday showed that the girl had "respiratory problems". "It was not an accidental death. She was sitting on a chair and was having something when she fell and died," Kazi said.
When contacted for comment, Pranita Shah, a spokesperson for the Caculo Mall, said that the death was not due to an accident.
"On Sunday at around 8.30 pm, the staff of the mall noticed a girl child being carried by her guardian from the pathway of Level 3. Our staff promptly assisted the guardian in shifting her to a hospital through the shortest possible route, instantaneously," Shah said.
"Upon thorough investigation, it is confirmed and clarified that there has been no accident or fall in the mall premises," the spokesperson added. – IANS
The tragedy has occured and parents have lost most treasured child. Media should not jump to conclusion that parents were irresponsible and Busy shopping. I met Parents (MY FAMILY FRIENDS) and the thruth is: they were constantly interacting and watching the child. Child was jumping on bouncers and occasionally crossing through Castles. Suddenly child could not be seen. Parents called out to her. They called the attention of Attendant, who could not help them. Parents screamed but their voices were lost in Sunday Crowd noise of mall. They ran asking people and some person told them the girl was carried by some person (UNCLE OF GIRL) downstairs, who found the girl unconscious lying under the table partly seen recognised by her clothes.
ReplyDeletePlease remember family had no plans of shopping and had gone to eat some chicken. When Uncle had stranded in Q for chicken, family simply entered the mall.
The news item in Newspapers/Media/NET and comments their on are sarcastic. No body bothered to speak to parents. Whatever incomplete information gathered from here and there is polished to make a catchy news.
Please remember parents have lost most bubbly child (I DONT KNOW WHAT WAS GOD'S PLAN FOR THE CHILD & FAMILY). They consider it is Bad time & whatever investigations & Expert opinions will NOT bring their CHILD BACK.
I request all readers Please pray for Healing of Parents and Family. Also Pray for the child's Soul for rest in Peace.
