FOURTH THIEF A NATIVE OF KARWAR ARRESTED IN PONDA IN ANOTHER BREAKTHROUGH

PONDA: A team of Ponda police made another breakthrough in the Ponda theft cases by arresting one more person from Karwar, Karnataka. The accused was nabbed from his hideout on Thursday and brought to Ponda on Friday, the police said.
Ponda police inspector C L Patil said the accused Imtiyaz Shaikh was hiding out at Karwar. A team led by police sub-inspector Sachin Lokare was sent to nab him. The police has already nabbed Suleman Shaikh alias Samir and Himanshu Kalika Maldhar (residents of Vasco) and Mallesh Bhimshe Yalwar from Bhendewada, Sanguem in connection with the cases.
Ponda deputy superindent Serafin Dias said that the thieves were involved in about 16 cases, including house robberies and temple thefts. "Some accused are still free. They will be brought to justice," Dias said.
