NON BAILABLE WARRANT AGAINST ACCUSED IN MONTE HILL

MARGAO: Judicial magistrate first class Devidas Kerkar on Wednesday issued a non-bailable warrant against Mohammed Mohiddin alias Amin Sheikh, one of the accused in the sensational Margao Monte hill swords seizure case of 2008.
The court ordered that a warrant be issued against the accused for not appearing for the hearing before framing of charges in the case.
The Margao town police had booked the accused after 17 swords were found hidden in an abandoned truck at an isolated spot at Monte hill on July 3, 2008, subsequent to the communal riots at Rumdamol in Margao.
According to the police, the accused had forged various documents to hire vehicles that were later used to transport the swords. In November, the JMFC had issued a non-bailable warrant against another three accused for failing to appear during the trial. (TNN)
