THE JUDICIAL CRISIS by Adv. Aires Rodrigues, Ribandar

In the current unprecedented murky judicial spat, the nation needs to know whether it is former Chief Justice of India Justice Balakrishnan, Justice H L Gokhale or Justice Reghupathy who is lying. In this sordid state of affairs we need to bow our heads in shame over the shadow that has overcast the highest ranks of judiciary.
We all know that after his retirement as Chief Justice of India, Justice Balakrishnan, the country’s first dalit Chief Justice was immediately appointed as the Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission. With the calibre of politicians in power today, judges of repute, retiring and seeking post retirement positions may find themselves in untenable positions to balance the scales of justice. In the current scenario Justice Balakishnan would do best by stepping aside and making room for the air to clear.
