BATTLE FROM CCP WARD NO 30 SET FOR AN EXCITING FIGHT

PANJIM: The Corporation of City of Panaji polls from Ward No 30 at Ribandar is poised for an exciting battle. It may be the last ward of CCP but the elections there will be keenly observed.
Ward No 30 is witnessing a 4 cornered contest with Adv. Aires Rodrigues having thrown his hat in the ring. Two sitting councilors Mrs. Vivina Nasnodkar and Mr. Rupesh Harlankar along with a BJP rebel candidate Mr. Shyamsunder Kamat are also in the fray. Mr. Harlankar is the sitting Corporator from ward No 29 and has moved to Ward No 30 as his earlier ward was reserved for OBC.
Ward No 30 comprising of 1623 voters has the largest number of voters. The Ward has also never re-elected a sitting corportaor. It is also the only ward where this time two sitting Corporators are now seeking re-election.
Police patrolling in the ward has been intensified by the Old Goa Police after complaints of violations of Code of Conduct by a government employee Mr. Michael Fernandes husband of one of the candidates Mrs. Vivina Nasnodkar.
