VALPOI RESIDENTS STOP MINING TRUCK.

VALPOI: Irked by the over-speeding of the empty mining trucks in early hours and in the afternoon, on Valpoi-Ponda road, members of an anti-mining organisation in Valpoi, on Friday, stopped four trucks just few meters away from the spot of the accident that had occurred in the early hours of the day.
The members of anti-mining organisation after enquiry called upon the Valpoi police to take action against the truck drivers, who speed up their vehicles to reach back to the mines.
Mr Vishwesh Prabhu, said that the mining trucks plying on Valpoi-Ponda route are found to be over-speeding for the last many months but the concerned authorities had turned blind eye to the nuisance.
Mr Prabhu also said that a tipper truck was involved in the Friday’ s accident and added that the locals informed him and asked to help them to fight the menace of over-speeding trucks.
It was informed by some locals that many truck owners use this route during the late hours or early morning hours to transport ore.
“Since transport department is acting against the trucks transporting ore beyond stipulated hours or carrying overload of ore in other parts of the state, this route is proving to be safer for the truck owners,” informed one motorist.

We, Valpoikars will handle these rouges. Someone cone and see the colour of our houses those turned red. This is enough for you to understand how much dust we intake and inhale. When will the government open their eyes? We will tolerate to some extent but not all the time. Actions are planned and soon, we will show that we exists.
