15 YEAR OLD BOY COMMITS SUICIDE FOR BEING SCOLDED BY SCHOOL TEACHER

PONDA: A 15-year-old Class X student, who was to appear for the SSC exams next week, reportedly committed suicide after he was allegedly scolded by a teacher. Vishal Nirmal Singh studying in New English School, Cundaim, and a resident of Tivrem Marcel in Ponda, said in his suicide note that the "teacher has lost trust in him".
Vishal is suspected to have committed suicide on February 26, however, his body was found floating in the river Zuari near a sluice gate in Cundaim on Friday.
Police said locals had seen the body twice earlier, but the current had taken it away both times. Police were finally able to fish out the body with help of the marine police on Friday.
Ponda police said Vishal left a note at home before leaving for school on February 26, which the parents have handed over to police. His father Nirmal Singh said family members and friends had searched for Vishal after he didn't return home on February 26 and had lodged a missing report with Ponda police the same day.
The note, written partly in Hindi and English by the student says, "God knows whatever happened with him, teacher has lost trust in me." It has more text that showed he cared for his family, police said, adding that the child had not said he was going to commit suicide.
Quoting from the note, Singh said his son was scolded by a teacher, but since teachers do so for the good of a child, he has no complaint against any teacher from the school. He said his other child is studying in the same school.  "My son was soft hearted and must have taken to heart something that happened in school, and could have killed himself," Singh said.
Sources informed that someone had deflated a scooter tyre at the school and some students had alleged that Vishal had done it. This was reported to the teacher, who had then taken Vishal to task.
School headmaster Chittaranjan Kerkar denied that any teacher had scolded Vishal and refused any other information stating he had none.  Meanwhile, police have registered the case as an unnatural death. The body has been handed over to his family after a postmortem. The father said they have cremated the body.

  1. The Ponda M.L.A. should now demand a ban on rivers in Goa, after asking people not to wear dupatta. The other idiot has already demanded banning of Ratol.
