HOUSELESS OR HOMELESS by Roque Manuel Coutinho, Quepem

Is it houseless or homeless, There is no such thing as houseless if I don’t have a house is the Government of Goa going to build me a house? anyway Who are these homeless? It is our politicians who have imported poor people from Karnataka for votes called them migrants and illegally gave them ration cards and voters id cards.
The main culprit is Naik from Margao who is responsible for the slums near Rajendra Prasad Stadium Margao. A good example of this fraud is what happened to me. I kept a poor Karnataka family to look after my old house in Quepem and went to Mumbai since I could not get a decent job in the Hotel Industry in Goa inspite of having the required experience ( in fact more than that was required and the Five Star Hotels then employed non goans in top management positions ).
After working for a couple of years I decided enough was enough and returned to Goa in time for the Municipal elections and decided to stand for the same because I am very popular in my ward for my honesty and readiness to help the needy. I put in my nomination but it was rejected on the basis that my name was not on the electoral rolls. I was astonished as I had a computerised electoral identity card with my photo on it which was taken in the Mamlatdar's office. I checked the electoral rolls and was surprised to see the name of the man who I kept in my house, his wife and children's name on the rolls instead of my name. I brought this to the notice of the Mamlatdar who told me he would have accepted my nomination even if there was a spelling mistake as he knew I was sure to win the election in my ward. When I told him I would file a suit on the basis I had a Photo identity card issued by his office his reply was they would say it was a forged card. During my investigations it came to light that it was a good friend of mine in that office (who presumed that I would not stand nor vote in that election) responsible for deleting my name from the computerised rolls who I forgave and let the issue go.
Let me warn Digamber Kamat, Churchill Alemao, Manohar Parrikar please do not take Goans for granted you are all from the same breed corrupt and rapist. How many trucks and mines do you guys own You are like Gaddaffi, Ben Ali and Hosni Mubarakh who claim they have no wealth and are for the people and have done a lot for the people. Now if you do not consider the Goans working on the ship and abroad in the census we loyal Goans will not keep quite. Dyanand Bandokar and Jack Sequeira although not on the same side loved Goa and did not destroy Goa like you are doing with the help of these corrupt Indian political parties may they be Congress or BJP. You can fool some people some time but you can’t fool all the people all the time.

  1. The time bomb is about to explode, that is exactly the feelings of the dis grunted Goan Citizen. Many countries are uprising and standing up against their Corrupt Governments it is time for Goans to do the same.

  2. We lost our most valuable land some 20 years ago so that a Five Star Hotel could be built. Many Goans did not stand with us, as they said the Five Star Hotel was going to create ‘jobs’. Now from Mr Coutinho, these jobs are being given to NON-Goans. When we cried nobody came to our help. Now, the truth is coming to light. My father's generation was crying foul for so long and our Goans didn't want to listen. I hope that this article a wake up call to our people that they have been fooled!!! and they continue to be fooled!!!! These TRAITORS; the politicians and the people that vote for them in Goa are traitors to their homeland. We still have plenty of ‘dirty ‘people in our midst that may again sell their vote for their own personal gain. My grandmother was widowed every early with a bunch of children to feed and educate. She was too proud to take anything 'free' ...she had dignity!...something lacking in our people today!!! She believed in 'working' for everything she got. She worked very hard, never ‘lazy’ waiting to receive. You would have never known that this woman ate kunjie and dry fish everyday. She raised her children without taking a single rupee from anybody nor did she sell her land. And then the Indian government took our land to have the Five star hotel to be built for ‘jobs’. We have paid a high price for the treasonous acts of our OWN Goan people. How many more are going to pay the price before we sell Goa off??

  3. You are absolutely right Diogo. But some of goans dont have brains as long as they get ration cards, fridges, washing machines, sarees, bicycles etc. The youth get girls delivered to them from outside the state. That is why we still have these kamats,alemaos,pachecos,monster-rats still in power. It will be very difficult to convince goans to come out on the streets.

It is about time we get back Goa to its original roots. where honesty and good sense prevailed. The invasion and occupation has made Goa worst place in crime and corruption. The number of Non-Goans holding Goan names through forgery are on the increase. Unless the Honest Goans unite and take over we will be lost in sea of criminal and corrupt Indian Ruled Goa.

There was an article recently on Goan Newspapers that many ratio cards have been unclaimed. So surely there must be a lot of fakes around.
This causes untold problems for a State budget and also promotes criminality.
People working in Mamlatdars and Panchyats are all corrupt. They try and fool the general public very often to collect haftas. Their modus operandi is...File missing, officers signature required, come tomorrow, come next week, boss is not in town.In frustration and due to the delay, many Goans feel compelled to bribe them to get their simple work done.

It will not be difficult to convince Goans if we like minded stand United, Honest and Determined. There are Goans not only in Goa but abroad who share the same feeling to get rid of the rot. Rome was not built in a day so as the saying goes. We can get rid of the rot through electronic network which I am determined to do with the help of like minded Goans. These politicians a few of you have mentioned are using money ( stolen from us Goans )power like Ben Ali, Hosni Mubrak and Gaddaffi see where they are now remember United we STAND divided we FALL that is what the politicians have done to us divided us by creating crumbeaters.Trevor is absloutely .right after the Indian political parties came into Goa they bred corruption and selfishness in Goa through our Politicians.

Political Crumb eaters and regular party voters are a hard nut to crack. They should open their eyes and see around them also they should remember Kamat’s words that the politicians do not need Goans Votes. Because they have fraudulently given Goan names to the Ghantis. Goans need to check if the are still owners of their own properties.
