PANJIM: Ayala Driham, sister of alleged notorious Israeli drug dealer David Driham alias Dudu, who had done a sting operation on former Anti Narcotic Cell PSI Sunil Gudlar has now said that the superior for whom the officer was demanding bribe of "Mahatma Gandhi" was the former Anti Narcotic Cell chief.
In her statement to the crime branch on Saturday, Ayala said, "The superior officer being referred to here was superintendent of police Shri Bansal. PSI Gudlar explained that money was the only way to get to him. He then used the phrase 'Mahatma Gandhi' which I did not understand.
He then took a note from me and held it up indicating the picture of 'Mahatma Gandhi' which is what he used as a code for passing cash to grease the hands of his superior officer i.e. Bansal. I remember telling him that this senior police officer had informed me that he was not liked because he did not accept bribes, to which PSI Gudlar retorted that he gives him money regularly or something to that effect."
Crime branch is investigating the role of PSI Gudlar, who is seen in the video clippings of the spy-camera allegedly selling drugs, demanding bribe and threatening to plant charas on a person if he fails to pay money. (TNN)
