MURDER MYSTERY SOLVED OF THE HEADLESS CORPSE

MARGAO: Cracking the mystery surrounding the Sao Jose de Areal murder case, the Maina Curtorim police on Tuesday night arrested Govind Naik, 30, on charges of killing Sultan Ballari, whose headless body was found in the fields at Ramnagri, Mugalli, near Sao Jose de Areal on January 11.
Naik is a resident of Calconda, Margao, the police said, refusing to divulge any further information. "More details about the motive of the murder will be revealed during subsequent interrogations," PI Sidhant Shirodkar said.
Ballari was found beheaded by the accused before his body was dumped in the open fields at Ramnagari. His naked body sans its head, was recovered by the Maina Curtorim police on January 11 and a case of murder was booked against unknown accused. Both his hands were found tied from the front with a nylon rope and there were multiple stab injuries on several parts of his body.
The identity of the body was established in the course of investigations as the finger prints of the deceased matched with those of an accused in a theft case named Sultan Ballari. Ballari was earlier arrested by the Ponda and Bicholim police, it was subsequently disclosed. The police later tracked down the relatives of Ballari to Bellary and brought them to Goa. After they confirmed that the body was that of Ballari, it was handed over to them.
Cracking the case had posed a challenge to the cops as the deceased had no family in Goa and was staying in some rented premises at several places. (TNN)

  1. Good riddance of bad garbage. A Goan did a good act of doing away with one ghantti who would have brought his whole household to Goa and built a house or occupied forcefully a Goan's House. This is the best way to drive away the outsiders.

  4. Throughout the world Goans are known as peace loving people. It is true, Ghantis have ruined our beautiful Goa but we must not resort to violence or cold blooded killings to drive them out. We must teach our children good values in life. I agree with UskoGoenkar. When a person is hurt and loves his motherland so much, the outrage is how Shyam expressed but in reality I am sure that is not what he meant or would resort to, to clean Goa of the Ghantis. The politicians have devided us, but once we all unite as Niz Goenkars, Ghantis themselves will pack their bags and leave us to live our lives the way we lived prior to 1961. Viva Goa, Viva Niz Goenkar !!! Mog asundi !!!

  7. Killing is wrong, there is no such reward for that, no virgins in heaven!!!!!!!

There should be a other way for that, and that is through Politicaly, one more good reason to stand by NZ

  8. Definitely killing is not acceptable. There can be many ways to deal with these ganttis, but like Diogo said, we need to know what drove Naik to take this vicious action. There must have been some reason. Not everyone has patience when instigated. I hope the real truth will come out.
