CONVOCATION CEREMONY OF 30TH BATCH OF FOREST GUARD TRAINEES AT VALPOI

VALPOI: Chief Conservator of Forests, Mr Yogesh has called upon the forest officials to discharge their duties with great honesty and integrity and added that any achievement without these is worthless.  Mr Yogesh was addressing a convocation ceremony of 30th batch of forest guard trainees at Forest Training School, Valpoi today.

Contingent of 29 forest guard had passed out the 6 month training which started on 2nd August 2010. Other who attended the function were Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, Dr Shashi Kumar, Conservator of Forest, Mr Vanlasiama Khawlhring, Ex-officio Director of FTS, Mr FX Araujo, Principal of Forest Training School, Mr Vikas Desai and other top official from forest department.

Meanwhile expressing his unhappiness over the conduct of trainees, he said I learnt that some trainees were requesting for deputation at the places where they are more comfortable in working. He warned them that such conduct will not be tolerated and the recruits have to work wherever they are deputed. He also urged them to follow the teachings avail during training to be successful in their work.

Dr Shashi Kumar in his motivational speech said that forest guard are at lower level of forest department hierarchy but if they work with sincerely and dedication than they will raise themselves in the eye of public. He further told that to plant and protect tree, defend ecosystem and safeguard environment is work of saint or rushis and forest guard are akin in terms of their duties. He lauded the efforts of faculties who had given training to these forest guards and maintain that rich experience of senior officer must be tapped and urged the training school to arrange a session for trainees in future wherein senior officials can share their valuable experiences with them. Wishing good luck to the recruits he appealed to them to accept the responsibilities as a mission to safeguard forest.

Earlier, Dr Shashi Kumar took the guard of honour from the recruits. All meritorious recruits were also felicitated at the hands of guest.
