BELGAUM POLICE IN GOA WITH TWO ACCUSED LADIES

MARGAO: A team of Belgaum police headed by an inspector conducted raids in Colva besides visiting the Margao police station on Tuesday in connection with the arrest of a head constable attached to the Margao police at Belgaum, informed police officials.
Bikas Ravikumar Bahaddur, Rajkumar Bahaddur, Sheela Bahaddur, all from Nepal, and Priyanka Kapoor Singh from Uttar Pradesh were arrested along with police head constable attached to the Margao police station, Arun Dessai at Belgaum on January 11 by the Belgaum police with 2.6 kg of Hashish in a Maruti van owned by Desai.
Today the Belgaum police brought two of those arrested namely Sheela Bahadur and Priyanka Kapur Singh to a nightclub on the Colva-Margao highway, apparently to probe where and how the drugs were procured and other such details.
"Five persons were arrested in Belgaum, and two of those have been brought to Goa as part of he investigations," PI, Mr Basuraj Eliger of the Belgaum police told media outside the night club.
He said that they were here as part of the ongoing investigation on the drugs case and would be going back immediately and proceed with the investigations. The Belgaum police team also visited the Margao town police and met the PI, Mr Santosh Dessai there.
"They came as part of their own investigation. They wanted to know about constable Arun who was arrested by them," Mr Dessai told media.  A Goa Police team headed by DySP, Mr Mahesh Gaokar had gone to Belgaum to investigate about the arrest of police constable who is attached to Margao police station.
Mr Gaokar had told media that he was in Belgaum to confirm whether Desai was arrested by Belgaum Police at Belgaum and they had recorded his statement about how he reached Belgaum on Tuesday, because he was on duty and so it would be a violation of conduct rules. Media reports say that Desai has made some important revelations. (NT)
