PONDA: The police personnel of Mogha-One (city) police station in Punjab, with assistance of Ponda police, on Friday arrested Raj Kumar, 21, and his brother, Vasant Jha, 28, both natives of Gopalgand, Kareghar, Bihar, from their rented room at Shantinagar, Ponda, for their involvement in the abduction and rape of a 15-year-old school girl.
After the arrest, the accused were produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class, Ponda and transit warrants of five days were obtained.
The ASI of Mogha-One police station, Mr Jaswinder Singh, speaking at the Ponda police station informed that the police team from Punjab reached Goa on March 17, after tracing the duo through the mobile phone calls made. He said that they received information that the wanted were staying at Shantinagar, which is a migrant dominated area of Ponda. He said that with assistance from the Ponda police and particularly from PSI, Mr Deepak Pednekar, a trap was laid and Vasant Jha was apprehended and he led them to the rented room where the two were found together.
Mr Singh informed that the uncle of the girl had lodged a complaint on February 16, where he stated that the girl was a student of ninth standard and while she was on her way to school, Raj Kumar abducted her with a promise of marriage.
Mr Singh added that on February 20, the pair reached Goa and since then, Raj Kumar repeatedly raped the minor girl in his brother’s rented room.
The girl was handed over to her uncle, who had accompanied the police team to Goa. Raj Kumar was booked under section 366 (A), (Kidnapping for marriage) 363, (kidnapping) 376, (rape) and his brother, Vasant under section 120 (B) (criminal conspiracy).

Just a few cases to justify their intelligence......They steal drugs from the confiscated stock and sell it into the drug market.They torture people in their illegal custody and kill them , then claim its a cause of Natural death.They implicate people in crimes that they have not committed due to the blessings of their higher ups.For a Few " Gandhi Notes" they will turn the case against you.Our police are so intelligent that operatives from outside carry on their criminal activities right below their very nose and they have no clue , so much to say that outside intelligence has to come and arrest these operatives without our police having any clue.....This list is endless. This is our plight and we still fail to recognize this failure. People wake up. We can make the change for a better tomorrow. The bottom line is ,Our Police is intelligent, but in a destructive /corrupt way, with lack of any values in them.
