MAN DIES AFTER FALLING OFF A COCONUT TREE

VASCO: A 29-year-old man died on Sunday after he had a fall from a coconut tree at Merces Vaddem in Vasco. According to PSI Amarnath Pasi, "The deceased Sainath Kalaji had climbed the coconut tree to pluck some tender coconuts when he fell from the tree in an unconscious state."

The deceased Sainath, originally from Kolhapur, was called by Sitaram Naik on Sunday evening, to pluck coconuts and clean mango trees.

After the fall, the victim was immediately rushed in an ambulance to the GMC. "He died on the way and doctors declared him brought dead,'' police added. Whether he had some health problem or he slipped is not known, they said.

The Vasco police have preserved the body in GMC, and are awaiting the arrival of his family members to conduct the postmortem. Meanwhile, Vasco police have registered a case of unnatural death.
