MARGAO: PWD Minister, Churchill Alemao on Saturday inspected work on the Telaulim-Varca bridge under construction over River Sal and set January 31 as the deadline for the contractor to complete the ongoing works.
He later told newsmen that the PWD would go ahead with the construction of the Sinquetim-Benaulim once permission is received from the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests.
After inspecting the bridge along with Principal Chief Engineer, J Rego and other senior officials, Alemao told the contractor that he would not tolerate any further delay in the completion of the works and want all work to be completed in all respect by January 31.
The PWD Minister further told the contractor to make provision for a pathway for the benefit of pedestrians.
When newsmen asked him on the fate of the controversial Sinquetim-Benaulim bridge, Alemao said that work on the bridge would commence once the PWD receives the necessary permission from the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests.
“Let me make it categorically clear that work on the Sinquetim-Benaulim would commence no sooner the green signal comes from the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests. I am confident the necessary permission from the Union Ministry would come no sooner the PWD submits all the relevant details concerning the project”, he added.
Churchill Alemao, who has been inspecting this bridge was looking unwell again (on a Photo) and I am more assured, he is on the last leg of his corrupt journey through life.
ReplyDeleteI also say, the sooner he departs, the better.
"no love lost here".
Goa can then breathe some light relief.
