FIRST AIR CONDITIONED TOILET BLOCK COMPLETED IN MARGAO

MARGAO: Sulabh International’s first air-conditioned toilet block constructed in the Margao Municipal garden is finally in place. The expensive toilet block – likely to cost a whopping Rs 20 lakh – will be thrown open for the public any moment and the formal inauguration is awaiting green signal from the Margao Civic body.
Sulabh officials informed that the air conditioner has been installed in the toilet which will be censor operated. While the Margao Municipal Council has chipped an amount of Rs 12 lakh for the expensive toilet block, Sulabh officials maintained that the Agency will pump in equal funds to finance the first of its kind project in Goa.
Besides separate toilet blocks for male and female, the toilet has a provision for urinals.  Sulabh is in the process of finalizing the rates for the use of toilet and the urinals.
The AC toilet under construction in the Margao Municipal garden had figured prominently in the Goa Legislative Assembly at the last session when opposition members sought to know from the government the priority in constructing an AC toilet when sanitation is at its lowest across the state. (HD)

  1. I am shocked to read this! Glad that they are contructing a toilets , but with AC? People do not have AC's at home in goa as its still a luxury and now we have public toilets with AC at the cost of the tax payer? Sanitation is at its worst in India. Percentage of toilets per person is at its lowest, people defeacating/urinating besides railway tracks, airports at any open place at any given time. With the same amount of money spent they could have probably built three toilet blocks. What a waste. It will be intresting to know the process of inaugrating this project, I would imagine a huge crowd of people outside the toilet block and a minister inside inaugrating the toilet with a royal poop, and toots like fire crackers with AC on full blast.

  2. What a shame. The regular toilets those existing are in shambles, no person can pass in the area of these toilets with nostrils open. And here comes AC toilets when air conditioners in Gvernment offices are non functional for ages.
Another racket where someone can fill in his pockets. Everyone should go and Cowmuth's face.

The Toilet should be inaugurated by all our Ministers including the CM. Followed by their 'Purification' of all the shit they have in them.

  4. Goans should lock all the 40 Ali babas inside this A/C. toilet by reducing to 0 degree so that they will not build another A/C. toilet.
