MARGAO: Carmona villagers waging a battle against the Raheja housing project in the village has now sought the intervention of Union Minister for Environment and Forests, Jairam Ramesh against the project. Copies of the petition have been forwarded to the President of India, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi for information and action.
In the petition, Carmona Panch member Orlando Da Silva said the Mumbai based real estate developer had purchased the property in 2007 on the banks of River Sal, an eco sensitive zone with thick green cover with mangroves and other forest trees with the intent of setting up a huge mega housing project meant for the neo rich from outside as second homes.
He drew attention of Jairam Ramesh to the unanimous resolution adopted by the village gram sabha on March 3, 2008, opposing the mega housing project amidst terror unleashed by groups owing allegiance to local MLA and PWD Minister, Churchill Alemao, who is supporting the Raheja project against the wishes of the locals.
He said the real estate developer under the patronage of the political class have clandestinely destroyed the mangroves and the thick private forest cover by putting fire and by using machinery as evident by the compounding order passed by the Forest department imposing fines and directives to replant five times the trees destroyed.
The petition pointed out that the project site does not have a access road of 10 meters as required under existing TCP rules but the Goa chief Minister Digambar Kamat under pressure of Alemao is now on record via the media that the TCP board has decided to grants license to the Raheja’s and the road condition will be made mandatory at the time of granting occupancy to the project. “The TCP department has issued subdivision NOC to the builder with the conditions that no secondary permissions will be granted unless the road is acquired and developed to 10 meters width”, he added.
Incidentally, Orlando pointed out that the same Chief Minister vide a circular dated August 29, 2008 was also on record that unless road width as required as per TCP rules is physically present at site no permission should be granted even for conversion sanads and subdivisions.
“There is no possibility for construction of 10 meter Access road unless the residents houses and compounds are demolished and based on fears these residents have knocked the doors of the judiciary for necessary reliefs. The Government cannot acquire a road for the benefit of the commercial project at the cost of the locals”, Orlando added.
I t 's good to hear that the carmona villagers are seeking help of union minister regarding the Rahejas project against the wishes of the people. The pig of varca will blindly blame his former cumpar Faleiro for the same. The varca pig is also aware that if he ditch the goondas Rahejas , his life will be threaten as he has taken crores of bribe from them. Hope the Raheejas slit the varca pig and feed to the stray dogs of moti dongor.
ReplyDeleteOur Government approves of Bridges where there are no rivers. That is the plight! For a few apartments or flats in consideration and even a few crores they will change the entire topography of a place in such a way that it favors these Mega Builders. The area being eco sensitive or not is not their concern at all. Yet Mega Projects like this are termed as development. Its unfortunate that the people have to appeal to the center for awareness on these rampant irregularities and damage to our eco system, when this matter could have been sorted out in our very back yard. This explains the attitude and high handedness of our Aam Admi Government. Its time to act now and change the course before its too late.
ReplyDeleteGoans
ReplyDeletewe will make all the congress candidates to loose their deposits
in the coming assembly elections
bitter truth
Come on goans, fight for your rights... make sure these guys first of all are not elected. why are we electing these guys over and over again. it is better to elect someone new, surely not worse., at least it will prove that our vote has power to do the CHANGE if the elected person does not contribute to what he/she is elected for, then let them hit the highway. if you elect (same crap forever) and then criticise - might as well shut the hell UP, and take their shit.
ReplyDeleteThe crafty pig of Varca has created one of the biggest mess with siding with Goa's Mega construction industry. The time is ripe to cut the pigs family of Varca and feed them to the tigers.
ReplyDeleteWhat will the president of India or anyone in the central government do the help Goa? Nothing at all because they have shares in these mega projects. Bloodshed could be the only answer to cure Goan's misery.
ReplyDeleteOur Central Government itself in trouble with so many scams to hide, I guess this might also be overheard story for them. At the end they will say "I don't know, when did this happen?"
ReplyDeleteFor Churchill, He is playing with Goa since Goa Liberation 1961.
I applaud the Carmona villagers and Orlando Da Silva! God Bless you all!!! Thank you for fighting to stop the destruction of OUR Goa!! We have had enough of Indians in our Goa...we met our quota a long time ago. Goa is not a 'Mumbai' or a 'Delhi'. We need to save our culture and our Goa. Please, Please keep up this fight....defeat the ILLITERATE CHORchill clan of thieves.....the bast_rd family that is out to destroy Goa for their glory. At least we have more educated Goans in Goa than we have in Dubai. In Dubai we have too many ILLITERATE Goans! Probably also drunkards and donkeys too!
ReplyDeleteLet us support the residents of Carmona and Orlando Da Silva which is a must. Protests must me organised starting from the south then going to the north of Goa. If that doesn’t work then take the law in our own hands. The central Government will not care about Goa it was the congress that invaded Goa, the MLAs destroyed it. So why will they bother.
ReplyDeleteChurchill and the bitch who follows him everywhere nowadays should be taught a fitting lesson by the electorate next time round. This illiterate gooda family thinks that Goans owe debts to them due to their participation in the Konkani agitation- this bloody uneducated uncivilised Alemao family of pigs needs to be dumped deep in the sonsoddo garbage heap. They are a disgrace to Goa and Goans
ReplyDeleteTo Shambuswamy:No doubt they (ALEMAOS) will BIO-DEGRADE at the dump.
