WILL GOA GOVERNOR SIDHU RESPOND TO THE SUMMONS ?

All eyes will be on whether Goa’s Governor Dr. S.S.Sidhu remains present before the Goa State Information Commission on 4th January for the hearing of the RTI case filed against him.  81 year old Dr. Sidhu is India’s first Governor to be summoned. The State Information Commission has the same powers as a Court in summoning and enforcing the attendance of any person.
Goa State Information Commission has issued notice to Governor Sidhu directing him to personally appear before the commission on 4th January at 10.30 am in connection with the complaint filed against him by Adv. Aires Rodrigues for non- complying with the Right to Information Act. The Commission has also directed the Special Secretary to the Governor Dr. N.Radhakrishnan to remain present.
Adv. Aires Rodrigues has filed the case against Governor Sidhu after Goa Raj Bhavan took a stand that the Governor is not a “Public Authority” and does not come within the purview of the RTI Act
After being summoned by the State Information Commission Governor Sidhu has reportedly not sought the legal advice of State Advocate General Mr. Subodh Kantak on the issue. It will now have to be seen whether Governor Sidhu engages a private lawyer to defend him.
Every Governor is assisted and guided by the Advocate General of the State on all legal issues. But in a virtual rebuff to Advocate General Subodh Kantak his legal opinion has not been sought by Governor Sidhu.
It may be recalled that former Governor Mr. S.C.Jamir had appointed a Special Legal Advisor at Raj Bhavan despite Mr. Subodh Kantak being the Advocate General.  Subodh Kantak has been accused by Adv. Aires Rodrigues of being India’s highest paid Advocate General having been paid over five crores in the last five years.

WILL GOA GOVERNOR SIDHU RESPOND TO THE SUMMONS ?

To answer this question I have to take the overall situation in Goa of such cases.
In order to preserve his authority and dignity, but more to hide his corrupt activities, and save Subodh Kantak,...Mr Siddhu , will request "extra time" and the case will be postponed.
It is trendy and fashionable in Goa to evade justice.
Ravi Naik and his crooked son Roy knows this, very well.Churchill,Monseratte and Mickky are masters of this.Valanka will do the same, at some time and call it "WOMENS EMANCIPATION"..(FROM JUSTICE).
The Postponement of this case will have a monthly cycle.
Like Digu Kamat, who cannot face serious issues,I will not be surprised if Mr Siddhu also and continuously claims he has to be in New Delhi on important business.
In the case of Siddhu, his appointment in New Delhi, will be with an advisor of the President of India at the famously called (Goa DESK).
So to answer this question... all I can say TODAY is,..."God only knows"!!!!but the Earth devil Siddhu knows better.

  2. @N Fernandes, all said and well explained. If the murderers of Goa can evade the summouns from courts and then go scot free, why not a rubber stamp of Goa?

  3. Why is a 81year old demented brain governing Goa? Under his nose every politician and vicious criminals are acquitted and freed.
