MARGAO: In an interesting development, BJP's cultural wing chief Sidhanath Buyao was issued a show cause notice by the party's general secretary Govind Parvatkar, for "anti-disciplinary" actions. The show cause notice is with regards to press statement issued by Buyao recently where he had criticized Fatorda MLA Damodar Naik for "denying representation for genuine BJP workers" as party-supported candidates for the Margao civic polls.
"Fatorda MLA's obsession with promoting Congress rebels and other elements at the cost of genuine BJP workers will eventually kill the spirit amongst the workers in the party," Buyao's press note had said. Parvatkar, in the show cause notice has pointed out that he should have placed his grievances before the appropriate party forums. Pointing out that his airing of views to the press amounts to violation of party discipline, Parvatkar has sought a reply from Buyao within seven days.
Buyao, when contacted, confirmed having received the show cause notice. "I will reply to the notice giving all facts and details," Buyao said.(TNN)
