TRANSPORT MINISTER TO CANCEL PERMITS IN CASE OF BANDH BY PRIVATE BUSES

PANJIM: The ministers and the transport authorities time and again have been threatening the private bus owners that if they held a “BANDH” their permits will be cancelled. But till date not a single permit has been cancelled for going on strike of the private buses. The talks are only to show the public that action will be taken.
The buses participating in the day-long strike call given by private bus operators on November 22 will have to lose their permits, the Transport Ministry warned today.
It has also been learnt that the Transport Minister and the Transport Authorities secretly take a huge amount from the private bus owners to revert their threat to cancel the permits. Rumours are also in the air that as usual the transport minister and the authorities will just take their share under the table and forget cancelling the permits even of one private bus.
Transport Minister Ramakrishna Dhavalikar today said that those buses going off-road on Monday will not be spared. “We will view their action very seriously and cancel the permits,” he said.
All Goa Bus Owners Association has given a call for strike on Monday alleging harassment by Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited and state government’s lethargy to solve their grievances.
Dhavalikar said that state government, in past, has agreed to the demands of private bus operators.  “When they asked for a bus ticket hike, we granted. We asked them to form a society so that their issues can be solved,” the minister said.  He said that state government has no hesitation to resolve the grievances of private operators, if they reciprocate properly.
The minister warned that after the strike, the permits will not be reinstated. “We will put Kadamba buses on those routes,” he said. People from the public say the this is nothing but a big BLUFF from the minister.

  1. In a democratic country everyone has a right to protest against Governments wrong doing, But the Government cannot black mail the citizens by threatening to withdraw their permits. Goa needs a political change. If you are hungry for that change do not look backwards, Niz Goenkars will make that change. Get ready to voice yourselves as one.

To Diogo::: This is just an excercise in getting haftas from the Bus owners.
The 40 MLA`s in Goa today are in some sort of MONEY OLYMPICS.They are all competing to see who can make the most "BLACK" money.
I hope the Bus owners will let Niz-Goenkar know the amounts demanded by Ramakrishna Dhavalikar to re-instate the bus permits if the strike goes ahead.
We can then expose these scumbags.
No doubt Mr D Kamat, the erstwhile CM and friend of Dhavalikar will again, be off for a day to New Delhi on business.
To THE PRIVATE BUS OWNERS..PLEASE CONTACT NIZ-GOENKAR,WITH YOUR STORIES, WHERE ORDINARY CITIZENS WILL AIR THEIR VIEWS.

  3. This is a real indication from the authorities that they cannot manage the affairs of controlling traffic. Buses do not simply come to town for a jolly ride. They transport people who could not afford to ride or drive in their own vehicles. Why put them to hardships? Make them follow rules and regulations and control the flow of traffic. The polite and RTA are seen at corner spots, hiding to penalize tourists, yellow number motorbikes and outstation vehicles. They are least bothered about controlling traffic. However, they need training and understandig of what "Traffic Control" means. Througout the World, traffic police are well trained to implement traffic rules. When there are no rules only, what will they control?

On the other side, I totally am against these private buses who create nuisance by halting "anywhere" on the road. They should be penalized and sent off the road, licences cancelled. The police know all this, they watch but turn their eyes off. Otherwise, how will they collect haftas? People hardly have the sense of driving on lanes in Goa and that is one reason why there are so many happy go lucky motorists zigzaging on the roads. If the police can monitor and fine these erring motorists, there will be much discipline including educating public that parking in proper zones can save congestion.

Traffic Department and RTA need training on these issues.

  4. It seems to me that the present idiots think that Goa is their house and we are their servants and their attitude toward us is, do what you are told or as we will punish you. After tasting power, the word “DEMOCRACY” is fading away from their head. They are transforming themselves as tyrants and gradually they will turn themselves into Frankenstein, obsessed for power. I don’t understand how Goa fell into the hands of these rogues. What happened to our honest and decent Goans? Are Goan populace is sleep walking or lost touch of reality.

  5. @ Da Silva... our present set of illiterate-goonda politicians are worse than Idi Amin. Power has blinded them because we have among us who sell their votes at the time of elections for a few hundred rupees.
Wake up Goans and support Niz Goenkar. Let us usher in a political revolution in Goa. Kick these chors out and save Goa for our future generations.
Viva Goa,Viva Niz Goenkar, Goa for Goans

  6. What are they going to do in villages of remote areas? Kadamba buses do rarely ply in these areas complaining that there are no sufficient passengers available for taking them to and from destinations. In this case at least the private bus owners take advantage in plying the people without hesitant but they do flout all safety rules and regulations. They don’t have any other options but to adhere to this tactics.
