POLICE DEPARTMENT HAS RESERVED WASHERMAN'S POST FOR PHYSICALLY DISABLED

PANJIM: Strange it may seem but true. The police department seems to prefer procedures to ground realities when it comes to hiring the best suited person for the job.  In one such instance, the department has placed an advertisement for the job of a Dhobi (washerman) and the post has been reserved for a physically disabled person.
"While we should encourage the disabled to lead productive lives, one can only wonder how a disabled person will be able to wash the dirty linen of the men in uniform," remarked a source.  While the Director General of Police was not available for comments in the matter, a senior police official said that they have to obey the supreme court orders for reservation of posts.
Keen to follow the guidelines, the Goa Police have also reserved one post of a barber for an ex-serviceman, while two posts of a cook (Armed Police) have been reserved for ex-servicemen and children of freedom fighters.

  1. One can understand posts for disabled and ex-servicemen , but Freedom fighters children is a joke. Like any Goan citizens they must qualify for the respective posts without prejudice.

  2. If these so called freedom fighters were really patriotic, then why are seats in professional colleges reserved for their kith and kin.
There are seats resereved for them everywhere. If someone fights for a cause, that person will never take anything in return. This very well shows that the freedom fighters are fighting to make money for their kith and kins.
