VASCO MOLESTATION CASE ACCUSED ACQUITTED

PANJIM: The children's court has acquitted a 25-year-old man charged for molesting a four-year-old girl near Vasco last year as the prosecution failed to prove the case.  Police had filed the chargesheet against the accused for molesting the victim, who was his neighbour.
During the hearing of the case, the defence lawyer contended that a false case was filed against the accused. There is no evidence against my client, the lawyer argued. On the basis of the testimony given by the witnesses, the prosecution argued that the accused had committed the offence.
However, after examining the victim and the accused, the doctor had stated that there were no signs of sexual assault.
While acquitting the accused, charged under Section 354 (molestation) of Indian Penal Code read with Section 8 (2) (sexual assault) of the Goa Children's Act, the court observed that the prosecution could not prove the guilt of the accused. (TNN)

  1. Sexual predators, murderers and drug dealers are being acquitted due to either lack of evidence, or being set up. The honest are languishing in Jail.

  2. This is a regular and normal news on accusations of rapists. How many have we counted since the last couple months only??? And how many more are we going to read about before the year ends? It's a shame!
