LIBRARY JOBS FOR LOCAL YOUTH DEMAND MARGAO YOUTH

MARGAO: The youth of Ward No 16 of Margao Municipal Council has demanded for jobs for the local youngsters in the Dr Francis Luis Gomes district library which will be inaugurated on Sunday.
Even as the library will be inaugurated at the Chief Minister, Digambar Kamat in the presence of PWD Minister, Churchill Alemao on Sunday evening, former Margao Municipal Chairperson Savio Coutinho has called upon the government to provide jobs for the unemployed youth of Ward No 16.
“We have been insisting for jobs for the youth of Ward No 16 since day one. We want the remind the government that since the library is being inaugurated on Sunday, the interests of the local youth need to be provided in terms of employment”, Coutinho added.
Incidentally, the former MMC Chairperson said that sadly, while Dr Gomes will be glorified in speeches on Sunday, the original house of the great Goan nationalist gets no respect from the government. “Most shocking is that the land/house is now converted to C2 commercial zone in the new Outline Development Plan for Margao,” he added. 1. I wonder how much the Goan youths have to offer to these corrupt politicians to secure the job. If no one can afford it then ultimately the jobs will go for the highest bidder and that will be the Ghanti of the nearing States.

  2. Wow, wow, wow! Our illiterate-goonda politicians have done a very good job by converting the original house of the great Goan nationalist Dr Francis Luis Gomes into a C2 commercial zone in the new Outline Development Plan for Margao.
Instead of declaring the whole area as a heritage area they are commercialising it.
I am not surprised at their decision because how would an illiterate-goonda politician know who was Dr Gomes?
Had the great Goan nationalist not to die young on September 30, 1869, today Goa would have had a different type of rule and not the rule of the ghanttis. Even Mahatma Gandhi was not born when Dr Gomes died and when Dr. Gomes was demanding equal rights for the citizens of Goa in the Portugese parliament.
In the Goa University, especially in the History Department, my dear friend Pratima Kamat with passion used to deliver her lectures on the contribution made by Dr Gomes to the cause of Goa and Goans. The Pinto's revolution was another of her favourite topic.
Also my friend Prajal Sakardande had written an article about Dr. Gomes and I am reproducing excerpts from it (Prajal, don't sue me for copyright infringements).
Below are the excerpts of Prajal's article:
"A great Goan parliamentarian on the floor of the Lisbon parliament elected by the Goans Dr F L Gomes left an indelible mark wherever he went in Europe. In the Lisbon parliament he demanded that the tax imposed on the toddy-tappers should be withdrawn. He demanded that the ridiculous marriage-tax should be withdrawn. In a lighter vein he said “I have not married. I am a bachelor so the marriage-tax is not applicable to me. But when I think of my married brothers I feel this is

an unjust tax.” Another crude tax was the death tax which Dr Gomes vehemently opposed. All these taxes were abolished (Dr Francisco Luis Gomes by Dr Olivinho Gomes). He was a human rights social activist, an economist, orator, writer, biographer who wrote the history of Pombal, a doctor, a conscientious politician, a rarity in present day, a thinker, a philosopher, truly a versatile genius."

  3. As usual the goverment excuse will be that the local youth are not qualified for the posts. Therefore ghanttis with their fake qualification and highest bid will be given jobs.

  4. Yes... they may say that no books in the Konkani language are available in the library so our Goan youth are not qualified for this job. Just wait and see, in due course of time this library will be manned and run by ghanttis with the help of the chors.

  5. Ghantis (Vote Banks) have pay by vote and Goans have to pay Hafta to obtain Jobs.

  7. Cowmuth is going to give the jobs to the vote bank of his at Monte dongor. Our local youth should not expect any job from the Cheap Sinister Cowmuth. But if one has money say 2 lakhs minimum, that should be his fees then OK. Otherwise the jobs are for ghanttis only

Here goes Mr D Kamat with another opening ceremony along with that most prominent uneducated Goan, Churchill Alemao.
It is rather weird to have Churchill open a Library.
A Library is meant to be a knowledge base, reference bank and educational institution.
Churchill was a school drop-out.A classroom "DUNCE".
"Text" books that impart knowledge and Churchill are incompatible. They are not "buddies"
However, the only book, an "excercise" book, that has the most elementary mathemetical calculations are his bible. His Arithmetical "forte" is percentages. He has passed on this values to his daughter Big Lips Valanka. She has become the "backdoor" collector of commissions.
I agree with all other commentators , that the job / jobs in the Library will not be given to the most qualified person or deserving person...but to someone that can come up with "WONGA" (CASH).
I am sure Goans will be eagerly waiting to see who has been given the Job as Chief Librarian and auxillary Librarians.
I am sure any keen and enthusiastic Goan can be trained in this job.But that is unlikely to happen.
This Job is for the highest bribe bidder.
