No child has two mothers and step-mothers cannot nurture a child as would the real mother. Though Konkani which is our mother tongue, has already been officially initiated as the state language of Goa. Why is it that some of the Goans are still languishing for Marathi? Has any one heard of a child having two biological mothers at a time?
We cannot and should never have two official languages. Just as a husband having one wife or a wife having only a husband Goa should have only one language and that is Konkani. If a husband has an additional affair it is termed as adulterous and the woman living with him is considered a concubine and not a wife. So all the Goans should be aware that Konkani is the sole and only language of the Goans and that we do not need any other language for Goa.
Today where ever we go we are only recognised as Goans by our Konkani and not by Marathi or any other language. It would be a good suggestion that those who favour Marathi, should go and live in Maharashtra where they can enjoy the full features of Marathi.
The latest issue of SIGN BOARDS in Goa is, SIGNS be put up in two languages. Why? Does Maharashtra or Karnataka or any other state put up sign boards in their state in KONKANI? Has any one seen boards in Konkani in other states? The official authorities of Goa must be living in a world of fantasy and dreams.
The Director for official languages G. D. Padgaonkar, should snap out of his sleep or his trip into wonderland and come back to reality. How can the present state government declare marathi as the official language of Goa? Why should publications of Gazettes be done in either of the two languages? The Gazettes should be published only in one language and that is Konkani. The pro marathi Government officials are hell bent on vanquishing our mother tongue KONKANI. It is high time that they go and live in Maharashtra where they are free to use only Marathi for any official work.
We the Goans must show those operating covertly for marathi within the government sector that they cannot take Konkani out or have marathi along with it in force. It would be like the son (Goa) living with two mothers one his official biological mother (Konkani) and the other his stepmother (marathi). When the mother (Konkani) is alive why should we have a step-mother (marathi)? Marathi is the official language of MAHARASHTRA and let it remain so where it has respect of its own. Maharashtra will never give equal status to the language of Goa Konkani. So why are we giving their language a status of equivalence here in Goa? Marathi belongs to Maharashtra and not Goa. Konkani belongs to Goa and not Maharashtra. So let us give to Goa what belongs to Goa.
Marathi is a language of a few settlers or migrants who came down from Maharashtra after the so called liberation of Goa. Whereas Konkani is the language of the masses, over all of all the Goans and the government should know that it should not temper with our beloved Konkani as Goans can come forward once again to fight for their mother tongue.
The so called Liberation of Goa was more of an invasion by Indian soldiers. The true Liberation against the invaders is yet to come. Konkani in roman script has been the official language of Goa. Marathi is a forced language of Non-Goans and must not be given a platform on Goan soil. We can only protect Konkani with a political revaluation, for that we need to be united as true Goans.
ReplyDeleteVery precisely said Mr. Menino. Konkani is the only language of the Goans and not any other. We do not need any other language sidewise. If anybody loves Marathi he/should go to live in Maharashtra where they can freely practice in Marathi. If anyone wants to live in Goa than it should only be Konkani. That is final.
ReplyDeleteAll the sides they our out to destroy Goa. All that is in their minds is how to destroy Goa, its culture and its language. This Paddo-gaunkar should know that you are only fit to look after Padde and that is why you are Paddo-guankar, you are unfit to look ofter out beloved Konkani
ReplyDeleteThere are quite a lot of Goans still running after marathi language. The reason is unknown to them itelf as to why. There are some Goans who are fighting for marathi when they do not know a word of marathi. There are some who pretend to like marathi just because they get some money from marathi protagonists to create turmoil and disturb out language konkani.
ReplyDeleteIt is disturbing to note that the government officials who are supposed to work wholeheartedly for the well being of our language Konkani are themselves trying to eliminate it. What a disaster!
ReplyDeleteThe idiots and monkeys running our administration should know by now that Goans only talk Konkani and not Marathi. Why do they want to promote a language of some other state? can the paddo-gaonkar answer this? who gave them the authority to use marathi in Goa?
ReplyDeletelooks like chorchill is sleeping now. it also looks like chorchill's zest for konkani has died down as now he is after money. I am telling chorchill that if he has any love left for the language he is talking then he should immediately object to the idea of sign boards in marathi.
ReplyDeleteThe Director of Official Languages, Padgaonkar? First of all let him understand the meaning of his name, PAD GAONKAR. For me the translation is Pad = The sound that comes from your arse, and not from your mouth. He should translate this and hang the sign on his office door. "Mr. Padgaonkar (Konkani), Mr. Farting Local (English) and Pad Marpi Gaunkar.
ReplyDeleteBenjamin, I wonder if Chorchill can walk out of his house to see the sign boards. His one leg is pulling the other leg to make him active but all the money in his pocket is making it more difficult for him to carry on the weight. Plus, I think his eyesight is also diminishing. When he was in Dubai for the tiatr, I could see him grabbing the chairs to get to his seat.
ReplyDeleteCongress has always played with the sentiments of Goans. The party is a mix bhaji. As long a Sr. Rane a former MG MLA & Ramakant Khalap and lots of others are in that party nothing good can happen to Goa. Digambar Kamat is a pure communalist. So Goans beware!! Time to uproot all these guys and so also the road signs if put up on Goan roads. Lets get liberated.
ReplyDeleteNow Chorchill speaks only in English, forget about the Konkani issue. It made him Minister to loot Goa and why should he bother now?
ReplyDeleteWhere are these people's leaders those instigated the language agitation? They even forgot the language and became Montri's. The poor boys who died in the language agitation are forgotten including their families, none remembers them today. The actual so called leaders, in the name of the language became politicians, MLA's and now Ministers.
ReplyDeleteThe same with MOPA. Lot of noise was created against Mopa. Now the same people bought properties around the proposed site and are silent. In the heat of the moment, Chorchill was succesful to form the new party called Save Goa. With Save Goa, he completely shaved the whole of Goa. Now the remaining left over job will be done by the Dukors daughter Leitao. She is already groomed to be the next Chor of Goa.
DLP. I doubt Goa has and will have leaders in politics like the great Dr. Jack Sequera, it's a shame none have followed his footsteps. All we have are chors, looters and drug dealers that have sold Goa and it's Konkani language to the highest non- Goan bidders.
ReplyDeleteWe should ask this question to Pratapsingh Rane as he dreams that he is the Maharaja of Goa. I am sure that he is the Architect behind this move of displaying signboards in two languages. This man has done lot of damage to Goa. A Fox (not sheep) among the Wolves.

Indian history remembers the sacrifice made by individuals like Bhagat singh,Bismill etc. The time has come to either follow Gandhiji's path and convert these illiterates or to follow the way of Subhash Chandra Bose and fight for our right.
ReplyDeleteOur unity can drive away these evil forces and every time you see these politicians just shower them with a bucketfull of shit.Do this a couple of times and then see what a difference it makes. But be sure to do it in a crowd.Kalmadi was made to pay likewise and insulted by a crowd in a restaurant.
