PANJIM: It has now been revealed that the alleged illegal police security at the official residence of Bombay High Court Registrar Ms. I.K.Jain like the illegal toilet was also on a mere oral request of Ms I.K.Jain.
On 18th Feb this year Panaji Sub Divisional Police Officer Mr. Deu Banavalikar was called to the office of the High Court Registrar and verbally requested by her that police security be provided at her residence at Patto colony. Registrar I.K.Jain discussed with Mr. Deu Banavalikar the threat perception to her in her capacity as Enquiry officer in one matter.
The records show that Mr. Deu Banavalikar did not ask the Registrar to make an official request in writing but sent a note to SP Security that the police security if approved may be posted at the residence of the Registrar. The same was approved by the DIG and IGP with no questions asked.
Adv. Aires Rodrigues has stated that the four constables and one head constable posted at the residence of Registrar I.K.Jain was illegal as it has not been approved by the Goa Government’s security categorization review committee as required.
Adv. Rodrigues has lamented that the illegal police security provided on the oral request of Ms. I.K.Jain was costing the State exchequer around Rs 80,000/- a month.
How can the police give security only to the crooks and corrupts? why don't they give it to the common people of Goa in dire needs? Can the Special Pig Atmaram Deshpande explain this phenomenon to the public?
