The recent Micky – Jose Phillip brawl at Vasco should come as no surprise. It was just a matter of time as the clock had been ticking for far too long. This anyway is just a precursor of the tenor any election will henceforth take. A degree in Political Science will not take you too far. The less you are educated the better are your political fortunes. Money, muscle and dinner diplomacy as a medium of elections is here to stay.
We have seen MLAs and MPs being kidnapped and high jacked. We will soon see the same for voters. Thugs, bullets and swords will decide who wins elections. With votes being auctioned to the highest bidder the night before the polls, the theory of the secret ballot has long lost its sanctity. We have known of the 'road rage' syndrome. We will soon need hospitals to deal with the 'political rage' that is creeping in.
A good assessment by the Dotor. What else left to be seen is taking shape.
ReplyDeleteShouldn't we be happy if the politician kill politician? Pray this culture come to Goa and let it finish them off by themselves.
Like I have said before, let them fight against each othe and kill each other. Niz Goenkars will have less people and less hedahces to deal with.
ReplyDeleteAires, absolutely true. Who should be blamed? We should blame ourselves. Many Goans worship these chors as if they are their Gods. At the time of elections, most of our voters accept money to cast their votes. They are not bothered about tomorrow. All this things are happening in Goa because we don't have a party with any ideology. We don't have a party whose leaders are passionate about saving Goa and Goans.
ReplyDeleteAll the parties in Goa are controlled by non-Goans. Hence, the interests of the non-Goans come first. Worse, Goans are becoming a minority in their own state. We need to do something drastic to change the present sorry state of affairs in Goa.If not be prepared to find a non-Goan chief minister within a decade ruling Goans. What Bandodkar and his MGP party failed to achieve, the merger of Goa with Maharashtra - the Congress and NCP have done by allowing all non-Goan builders, businessmen, hoteliers and workers in Goa. Not only, that, they have also constructed houses for the ghanttis in Goa under the 20-point programme. Since you stay in Ribander, you should be more aware of what is happening in Chimbel. Chimbel is non a ghanttis' colony and most of the ghanttis there are residing thanks to our Gua government.
No matter how many of these corrupt Ministers fight each other, none of them will reform as they are deeply rooted in the life of political crime.
ReplyDeleteThese two ministers are Catholics. Elected by a Catholic electorate. It saddens me that the Message of catholism - honesty and truthfulness has been lost by these (our) people. It wouldn't surprise me if these same people show up for Mass on the feast day of St. Francis Xavier....yet they elect immoral leaders to be a reflection of them!!!! Why has our faith failed them? Thank you Mr Rodrigues for speaking up for truth and justice. Sadly, it has been lost in Goa. I still have hope because our Goan culture produces people like you and Niz Goenkars here that have been the voice of justice and truth. Recently I read, a memorial was being honored in Africa for Mr Gama Pinto, a Goan, that fought against injustice and was martyred for it. I thank you for fighting for all of us and for Goa. Make God keep you safe.
ReplyDeleteI am really impressed by this NIZ GOENKARS organisation. I think as a goan we should shun away these political parties and choose a good candidate from this niz goenkars association or vote and elect a good indipendent candidate for a term and keep on changing the candidate every term so they don't get to learn the mechanics of looting and use their energy in saving Goa and it environment(what is left of it) to the future generation which hopefully include our children if they do not migrate to the west.
