HOW POLITICIANS RUIN THE FUTURE OF THE YOUTH by Menino de Valpoi

This is an article that I am writing as a warning to the youth, students and the parents of the boys who leave their education, who forget their backgrounds, who forget themselves and who forget that they have a future and run after the politicians. Young friends do not think that these politicians are everything. They are out there not for you or the public but for themselves.
What inspired me to write this article was a comment on this blog by one of our blogger who has brought out bitter truth in the comment and the nature of the politicians in it. The story really touched me and made me write this article. I am also putting up that story here so that the young readers realise what they are running after and what they will get at the end of the run.
One would really like to note the selfishness of the biggest bluffer of all the times Churchill Alemao and how he played with a student who turned his follower. Below is the incident that changed the life of a very talented student Sunil Shetye, the student leader of yesteryears.
Sunil was a very good organiser during his younger days. Sunil was the one who organised the anti-Narvekar agitation during the molestation incident of Sunita Haldankar. Sunil was the driving force behind the agitation. Sunil was roped in by Churchill and was seen everywhere with Churchill even for football matches. Sunil who comes from a very decent family and never used to drink, started drinking and was going around saying that he is Churchill’s brother. Though heightwise he did resemble him but was handsome, unlike Churchill and his brothers. One fine day Churchill suddenly dumped Sunil. In the words of our blogger “A few months ago, when I was in Goa, I met Sunil on the streets of Panjim. He saw me and came running towards me. He looks like a pauper, and the first thing that he asked me was 100 rs. I knew why he wanted that for. For old time's sake, I gave him 1000 rupees. Later, I spoke about him to another of our good friend who is now a practising lawyer in the High Court. He too told me about the sorry plight of Sunil. He said once, he stopped him in front of the court and pulled out 50 rs from his pocket. Our lawyer friend said he could not say anything to him, because during our college days we had worked together to espouse the students causes.” Imagine people of Goa what this man Churchill is and what he can do to destroy the future of brilliant students like Sunil and others. Sunil is a BSc graduate and was doing his LLB when all this happened in his life.
Churchill who can dup the cause of the public by fooling them during the Anti Mopa agitation and when he receives his under the table suitcase full of money signs up for Mopa airport, betraying the cause and trust of the Goans, can easily dup his followers any moment specially when he feels they are of no use to him.
The rest of the Politicians are same too. They are not different. But it is the youngsters; youth who follow them blindly are the foolish ones. Not once do they sit and think what would be their future, what would happen to them at some stage. When they realise it will be too late because time never runs backwards. The clock will tick on and on. There are many such incidents that I have seen, where followers of the politicians living the life of worst than stray dogs after being duped by them.
Goan parents who also push their sons into going after the politicians should take care and educate their immature sons and daughters as now a days even females have started doing that. It is therefore unwise to follow the politicians who never think of them but of themselves. The example of Sunil above and the uneducated, illiterate PWD minister should be a deterrent to all those who do not see sense now.

(An example of this above story is in this video clip by me - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCw9GtDtSBc )

  1. Mr. Menino rightly brought out to the notice of the youth and the parents as well. These boys do not realise what they are doing and how they are getting their future ruined by the politicians. We can also see same pictures throughout Goa with every politician. These politicians use these boys for their own purposes and when they are done with, just discard them away.

  2. If many of these politicians do not have educational why would they want others to prosper? It is up to parents to cater for the future of their children. Keep them away from following the bag pipers.

  3. Menino I commend you for this priceless article. It is vital today that our youth are socially educated. Goans over the years and even now have placed their lives and treasures in the hands of thugs and rougues. I am sure many will appreciate the advise.

  4. Menino, this is a bold one that should open the eyes of the parents of these youngsters but youngsters themselves. One should realize that these young people could do something by themselves with hard work and dedication. As you mentioned, these politicians nowadays have found the way to reach to the hearts of our youth is thorough he stomach, feed them and make them drink and corrupt them. The story of Sunil is pitiful as mentioned that he started drinking after meeting Churchill. There are hundreds of them, I call them all the local couriers of the politicians who just do not understand what Goa should be for the better future of the youth. Menino, you are just one who could stand tall, taller than the politicians. I hope every reader will take a moment to praise Menino for his bold stand that is truth but truth.

  5. Bravo Menino, the article should open eyes of many Goans. The picture depicted is true, and the truth prevails in whatever you wrote. Churchill is not just one but most of the politicians and their chamchas does it today. I am really touched by your article and I am sure, you all will. Please pass on the message to every household that we need to change these politicians, their families should be kept off from the interference into our political system that is spoilt by the same politicians. We need to get new faces, not just faces but people with backbone to stand the tirade against these corrupt politicians.

  6. Excellent article Mr Menino de Valpoi. God has given us brains to think which we do not use at all. Some of our youth think being seen on the television along with a filthy politician is the biggest achievement of their life. The parents, They encourage their sons to go ahead so that they can bully the ones not involved with the politicians. Well done by bringing out the true facts with a moral at the end. This magazine NIZ GOENKAR is the GREATEST of all the newslines of Goa and I can say one of the best in the world to get the truth to the surface.

  7. @Menino: Bravo I love it! Please put it in the main Article as in Demand this is my request.

Yes the youth are destroyed by Churchill, Mauvin and all the chors. Beers, whsky on rocks, Beat shows, parties, picnics, call girls, money, rapes, what not.... don not forget drugs the killer. How the youth are fooled.... and how the young people are involved....

Par excellence! Menino de Valpoi has shown the truth behind the masks of the dirt bags the politicians. All the politicians do the same that includes another rogue POSKO MONSERRATE UNDEDUCATED EDUCATION MINISTER who does the same. The other newslines like HERALDO, NAVHIND TIMES, GOANEWS have not balls to put up articles like this. This is what we call Niz Goenkar.

  10. This is also what is called freedom of speech in a democratic country Mr. Joe Rebello. I would not want my children and any generation to be involved with these politicians. Well done Niz Goenkar. You have the guts Mr. Menino de Valpoi. To hell with Herald or GoaNews or NavhindTimes Mr. Joe.

Well said Joe and Sandesh, yes the rest of the news magazines are all chamchas of the politicians. They are in the pockets of the politicians. It can be noticed that some are given new studios recently by the politicians so they won't write anything against them. They fake to have exposed the politicians, police etc but the reality is something else. Media studios are built/designed at the expense of this ill gotten wealth of the politicians by the Goan Media owners.

    ***GOA`S RENT BOYS****.:

I think everyone in Goa will indentify with this story. It exists in all the villages.
Many of the so called "BOYS" that get used by these Political Thugs & Corrupts are usually uneducated or just unabititious. They think by associating with Politicians they somehow possess extra & suprenatural powers.
During one of my visits to Goa , I was pointed & told by a friend about these "boys."
In the UK we usually associate "RENT BOYS" as very young boys that provide sexual services to "GAY or "HOMOSEXUAL" men. They are paid to satisfy a "LUST".
Similarly these "RENT BOYS" of Goa, provide services to satisfy the lust of the Politicians.
I was told, while I was in Goa ,that if there is a dispute...people approach these "RENT BOYS" to help. The only reason they are approched is people beileve these "Boys" have influence with the Politicians and so can resolve disputes or ensure it goes infavour of them.
A very good example of a "RENT BOY" is Lyndon Monteiro. He was under the wings & promoted as a Lieutenant by Mickky Pacheco.
Lyndon belongs to the first tier. The second tier are the Panchas & Sarpanchas sponsored by Politicians. The 3rd tier is the village "Rent Boys".A better way to describe the village "rent boys" would be, local idiots.Highly illogical, highly uneducated and just a bunch of posers. They will not work for a living. They are more inclined to get wealth by nefarious activities.
I am also sure if one questions these "RENT BOYS", about the Politician they are working for ,they will have a simplistic answer..."I am just a supporter".If probed further if it is ideological or finiancial pleasure they get out of it...again the answer is usually finiancial and also the patronage & power of the Politician that accompanies it.
This story of Sunil is very sad.He was Churchills Tier 1.Seems like he was brainwashed ,used and abused by Churchill.Perhaps Sunil is now too far out in the deep sea to be rescued. It seems like he has been taken out of the "frying pan" and thrown into the "FIRE" by Churchill.
Does Churchill take any responsibility or feel any pain or remorse for Sunil?.I doubt it.
In Churchill`s eyes Sunil now is not an asset but no better or useful as a "Dirty old rag".
Sometimes in life people are led astray and then, when the going gets rough cannot return to their roots.
I am sure quite a few of "GOA`s RENT BOYS" will experience this phenomemon at some stage.
There is a saying...marry in haste & repent at leisure. These Rent Boys ideologically & illogically married to these Politicians will understand this one day.
Churchill & other Politicians are not everlasting creatures.
On another subject/topic ...Goa`s Politicians, notably Churchill & Mickky are now frequently travelling to Dubai to make investments in the booming luxurious property market there. These investments are funded by money laundering.
However following the Banking Crisis, many investments in Dubai have lost their values & investors huge sums of money. So these Politicians will now try to recoup their losses..and that will be done by fleecing Goa`s people and wealth.

I am sure the truth will come out one day

  13. Your article should be an eye opener to other youth who may end up in the fate of Sunil Shetye. Sunil has been and will always be a dear friend. We have worked together in the student movement. He was a very reliable and dependable comrade. In college he was always very enthusiastic and ready to fight against injustice.

It is very depressing and sad to see him in the current state. One cannot dump someone, just because the guy is down. Friendship is tested in times of crisis. Churchill Alemao could have definitely done something to rehabilitate our friend Sunil. But we all know that politics today is a very selfish game. It has long become a scoundrel’s last resort. Let us all pray for our friend, Sunil. He has always been a kind hearted soul. May things change for him. May he become again that Sunil Shetye we all knew in the student movement.

  14. Superbly written Menino! It's high time some of our parents got wise before it is too late. In my village, whenever I go on vacation, I have seen all these young guys who I was helping with their school homework and teaching them catechism are turned big heroes with latest mobikes and don't even care to 'hallo' you. The problem is, the get money and they give it to their parents too. So why some parents should care as long as they get whatever they want??? Maybe the parents will be long dead and gone, but these youth will only realize their folly when it is too late. God Bless them.

  15. Thank God Aires has put his comments on this blog for the first time. He used to post articles on this blog but never posted his comments to any of the editorials posted by others. I used to wonder whether he is meant only to post his editorials and rest not bothered to even comment on it. At least he has shown some pity at the pathetic state of Sunil’s plight. Hope this is an eye opener to all others not to follow these corrupt politicians. It is worth to work for a petty salary than to fall prey for these dirty corrupt guys. Hope someone takes care of Sunil and bring him out of this trauma. If there is a will there is a way. So you all guys who know Sunil help him please. Viva Goa.

  16. Bravo N. Fernandes, whatever you wrote, we see it everyday. There are village boys and nowadays, girls too or women who are the political slaves of rogs like Mickey mouse or Chorchill. They, though educated are brainwashed and thinks that their political masters are the saviours of Goa. Crime and indignity is the order of the day and the morals are overlooked. A few of them live on that and the others think that one day, they too will make a living on politics. In both cases, they feel they are too powerful but alas! Many failed and are today living in desperation and regrets. Very few like Bakia still survive on crumbs.

  18. Guys when I have the time, I will write a detailed article on how Dayanand Narvekar was forced to resign by the students of Goa. It was the sheer brilliance of the organisational capabilities of Sunil Shetye, Joseph Marques and Samir Bandodkar that brought down Narvekar. I distinctly remember how the whole strategy was planned in the canteen of MS Law College by Sunil, Joseph and Samir where they were studying.
They were then ably supported by late Sushrut Martins and Umesh Mahambre(may their souls rest in piece).
I will also elaborate on how Sunil, Joseph, Samir and Sushrut went to each and every college in Goa to win the support of the General Secretaries of the various colleges in Goa. There were also two girls with them, one Rachel from Corjuem who was studying in Dhempes and another girl from MES college. Lenny Da Costa also provided good support, he was the GS of GMC and Frances who was the GS of Carmel college.
If these students could bring down a stalwart like Narvekarat that time, I don't see why we Niz Goenkars cannot bring down the 40 chors of Goa with our joint efforts.
By the way, Sunil never did any sort of dadagiri even when he was with Chorchill. Sunil was taken for a ride by Chorchill. And I think we should all do our best to help Sunil.

  20. @Aires...I totally agree with you. My heart really bleeds for Sunil.Such a talented guy who lost his way because Chorchill manipulated and used him. He is my friend too Aires, and you too is my friend (although you were much more senior than us). I still remember the energy and zest that Sunil possessed.
Another incident that comes to my mind is the Vodithala capitation college agitation... I can't forget those student leaders who really fought for us. That time Dhempe college was at the forefront of all the students' causes. That college produced some of the excellent student leaders during our time in the mid-80s.
Who can forget them ... Mahesh Sonak, Vishnu Wagh, Sunil Shetye, Joseph Marques, Samir Bandodkar, Mohan Nayak, Rodney ???, Lester Gracias, Edwin Furtado, Allan Veigas, Rui Rodrigues, Raul Prazarus... and many others.
I believe all of them are doing extremely well for themselves, professionally and personally. Except for Sunil Shetye.
Sunil if you are reading this, you will know who I am. I was there with you during your college days and I am still there for you if you still need my help. You can always count on me.

  21. @ Bebdo: I was also a Dhempe product, I used to travel from Vasco. I know Allan as his brother Melwin is my friend, I think its same Allen you talking about. I heard about Raul & Rui but I do not know them as I was junior and science student.

Just refereshed my mind of past. Yes we need to help Sunil, we can provide him employment and be our right hand to do work for nizgoenkar, we can support him financially, this might change his life, I am with you guys.

What a shame that for their personal greed they are ready to destroy our Goan youth>

One sure fire method of exposing these MLA`s would be to film & record Sunils life experiences and upload it on YOU TUBE /FACEBOOK ETC.This would evoke a powerful messsage to the decent public and educate the ones that blindly follow these 40 Rogues...MLA`s (Members of the Looting Association".

  25. Bebdo... N. Fernandes' idea is superb. Can we do it. We now have to attack from all corners. Whatever chance we get, let us take the opportunity. Can we do anyting to help Sunil?? I am sure it's not too late. I don't want to take advantage of his current dilemma, but first and foremost if Sunil needs any assistance to get back to his old self, we are here to support. Then we fire at these corrupt chors one after another.

Hi Robert:::I am sure in time someone will volunteer.
Goan media is not as fair or fearless as it should be to expose issues.
The impression I get frommany that comment here is that the Goa Press / Media is tied to the Apron strings of the Political manipulators. This surely is not called "Press Freedom" in a democracy..Seems there is much more Press freedom in North Korea.

Menino, your article is an eye-opener to our Goan youth. But we all know that the politicians are ruining the future of their own kids & their future generations as well! Their children surely know from where the goodies they enjoy come from! But they choose to ignore it! They will enjoy them to a certain period of time!

If the Goan youth joins the fight & decides to dethrone the “Good for themselves” MLAs, a time may come when the looters or their kids will have no choice than to return the looted wealth back to the Goan exchequer.

I second Marcel’s suggestion & I am ready to contribute to do something concrete to Goans like Sunil shetye!

  29. You have given voice to the feelings of many a Goan parents. These politicians parading as philanthrophists are the biggest criminals. They are the devils incarnate, and surprisingy they manage to get the blessings of the spiritual leaders too. There is need to destroy these demons before the whole of Goan yoputh is ruined!

  30. Now since the editorial on Sunil Shetye has been brought on the fore line and the name of the chorchill is figuring in it, I can surely say that now Sunil will be hunted by chorchill chamchas so that he is not giving away any of his misdeeds. Before any harm is done to Sunil, he should be protected from being taken away from their sight otherwise he may disappear from the face of the earth within a flicker of a second, that is what these rogues are up to and can do anything to safeguard their positions and power.

Hi Franco:::I would be most keen & interested in knowing how Churchill`s Chamchas (henchmen)get to know, information from Niz-Goenkar.
I know DLP sometime ago stated he was threatned by some Politicians goons, but I forgot to ask DLP who`s goons and how this came aboutor the method that was used(phone call, verbal, written).
You make a fair point.Lets see how this develops.
I am aware of the NSUI President being attacked recently in connection with the drug Nexus Case.
In his car there was a guy also called Sunil Shetye. Not sure if this Sunil is the same person as the subject of our discussion.
In the case of the Drug case...Drug Barons have too much to lose, so do carry out such activities as anhilation.

  32. It is not a bad idea to follow in someone's footsteps if one is a staunch, resolute and determined individual and understands to pace himself or herself with his idol.

Sunil Shetye's ambition was only to thread in someones footsteps for fame I guess. He lost his way in the glamor and glitter of things surrounding the falsehood of the crooks and the crooked.

Churchill's cronies are frantically looking to get Sunil in their midst inorder to aspire his declining profile for the next election.

  33. N.Fernandes,
These chors are worse than the Italian Mafia. If Chorchill goes to Dubai this time to be the chief guest of the corrupt Goan Community there, I am cent percent sure that he will have all the information about me as some of the members of this Dubai Community know me very very well and also knows my every movement in Goa when I am there. So the henchmen might be keeping an eye on me, but who cares??? Niz Goenkars will prevail.
Franco... how long will they last with their position and power??? Maybe a few of us will go down fighting, but I am sure we will see a victory for us Niz Goenkars!!!

  34. Now Niz Goenkar is a famous mouthpiece of the Niz Goans in Dubai. Most Goans are glued to NG as per the reliabnle information as we have uncovered the misdeeds and ego of the Dubai Gang. Chorchill is one of their stooge who goes there at the cost of poor people.

  35. It is a tragedy to see many youth in Goa running after the politicians and falling prey to vices like liquor, drugs, gambling etc. In the process they unknowingly ruin their valuable life!
It is time the common man thinks as to why and how a politicians- within a short time in power - can amass so huge assets! There are many examples of this as one can easily find such politicians everywhere in Goa.
It time the intellectuals wake up to their social obligations of condemning all this and bringing in awareness in the society, so that the loot of the public exchequer is halted!

This is what all the politicians are doing. But it is the foolish ones like us who fall prey for their bait. The parents are the main culprits behind all this. Crying later on is of no use. There are more like this bas....d churchill in Goa in the political arena among which Churchill is the dirtiest of all followed by Mickky, Ravi Naik, Monserate etc.

  40. Though out of topic: I know there are some guys who are indirectly connected to the SMGC. These guys talk about Goan unity whereas the reality is far from the truth. These guys are only trying to protect their interersts and avoid exposure. Why aren't these guys coming forward and speaking boldly. I have also noticed in the article DUBAI THE KICK BALL there is one guy acting on behalf of the SMGC as the good samaritan. It is highly inquisitive to know what INTEREST DOES THIS GUY have in SMGC. SMGC has all grown and matured persons to the high post who do not need a mouth piece. I am strangely surprised why this third guy involve in uniting SMGC to other Goans. Why did he not do all this before the SMGC incident? Where was his Goan identity sleeping that time. I am doing studies on this guy and next time I shall come with something with this persons name though the name is mentinoed in the said article. Looks like he is involved somewhere in the money racket.

  41. The solution to this is simple but not easy. Create more and more opportunities for the youth where they can test their mettle.

Unfortunately people like Alemao know this and that is why they will not let any development projects come to goa. Even if a young man today has to start his own enterprise he should first bribe the local, Panch, Sarpanch and MLA.
