21 OCTOBER TO BE A DRY DAY IN PANJIM

PANJIM: 21st October has been declared as a dry day in Panjim City. According to the CCP all the licenced outlets of liquor will be closed throughout the day due to the vote counting of the bye-poll, which will take place at Goa College of Home Science, Campal.
Those licenced premises who hold licence for “Bar and Restaurant” will be permitted to remain open for serving food only. Liquor will not be allowed to be served in these Bar and Restaurants. The Bar counter has to be closed.
In addition to that the owners of these Bar and Restaurants will have to diplay written notice that the place is open for food only and no liquor will be served.
The vote counting will begin at 8 AM in hall No. 1. 83 percent of voters have cast their votes in yesterday’s elections at Valpoi Satari.
Congress Vishwajeet Rane and Santosh Aldoncar of BJP were the only two candidates who contested the elections. The outcome will be declared on 21st October, this Thursday with people predicting Congress to win the seat in an easy victory.
