PANJIM: A day after the managing trustee of Hindu organisation Sanatan Sanstha told reporters that the organization is launching a campaign against glorification of Narkasur on Diwali eve in Goa, police officials have said that they will maintain a vigil on the organization's activities and any general activity that is likely to spark disturbances.
Two members of Sanatan Sanstha Malgonda Patil and Yogesh Naik were killed in a blast while allegedly transporting a locally made bomb on Diwali eve last year.
The National Investigation Agency ( NIA) in its chargesheet in the case had later pointed out that the blast was planned in protest against the glorification of the mythical demon.
Virendra Marathe of Sanatan Sanstha had told reporters on Tuesday that the organization is launching a campaign, along with other Hindu organizations such as the Hindu Janjagruti Samiti, against the Narkasur parades around Goa on Diwali eve. Marathe had said that his organization feels that the larger than life effigies of Narkasur overshadow the role of Lord Krishna whose glory the Diwali festival is supposed to celebrate.
Police spokesperson Atmaram Deshpande told reporters in the wake of this 'awareness' campaign that the police will keep a watch on the activities of Sanstha as a precautionary measure. (TNN)
This Sanatan Sanstha is not based on Hindu culture. They are creating their own culture of terrorism. They have the blessings of Sudin dhavlikar the MLA. SS should not be allowed to increase or grow and have to be crushed right now.
ReplyDeleteThese political parties have been fathered by the criminal rogues at the helm in Goa. They were unheard of and were non-existent in Goa until the 80's. The Goans have now awoken from their slumber to find that these are the "political mules" or the "sterile hybrids" contagious to communal harmony.
