BOTH VALPOI CANDIDATES CONFIDENT OF WINNING

VALPOI: The turnout at Valpoi polls has put confidence in both BJP and the congress with each claiming the victory to be his. Niz Goenkar spoke on phone to some of the voters and the response was Congress win. We also spoke to a few known BJP supporters who claimed that the victory will be theirs.

But one BJP supporter name withheld showed doubts about the BJP win. The supporters from Vishwajeet camp were very confident in their verdict. NG spoke to one Ashok (full name withheld) about the elections. When asked what he thought of the results on 21st October, without any hesitation said “Baba (Vishwajeet) will definitely win and there is no doubt about it. BJP no chance at all as they support the communal groups”

Both the candidates were in the area and were seen visiting the booths till evening 5:00. Vishwajeet in his talk to the media expressed his full confidence in the win, though unsure of the margin of votes. The BJP candidate Santosh Aldoncar was seen more in the village booths on frequent visits.

During the day the security (CISF) stopped the car of Mr. Rane from entering the compound from entering the compound at the Valpoi booth. Though it was later informed that they did not recognise Mr. Rane as he was not wearing the candidate’s badge. He had to walk to the booth from the gate.

Both the candidates expressed satisfaction at the security arrangements and the polling took place without any untoward incident. The results will be declared on 21st October. But it is well predicted one with a Congress victory or it isn’t? Well we have to wait and watch and see.
