PANJIM: Konkani film ‘Tum Kitem Kortolo Aslo?’ completed 100 public screenings recently. To mark this occasion, ShaMaz films in association with Ravindra Bhavan, Margao organised a function to felicitate artistes of the film which was followed by a public screening of the film at the Pai Tiatrist hall at the Ravindra Bhavan.
The chief guest for the function was the director of Information and Publicity, Mr Menino Peres. In his address he said, “Goa government always supports art and culture of our state. In Goa, the tiatr culture attracts a large audience. Our attempts are to bring locals to watch Konkani films in theatres”.
Mr Peres highlighted the financial assistance schemes available for Goan filmmakers. He said, “Goa promotes the production of films in Konkani, Marathi, Hindi and English of aesthetic excellence and social relevance depicting Goan art, culture and heritage. Under the Goa scheme of financial assistance for films 2010, we provide grants of financial assistance up to 50 percent of the total cost of the production of the film.”
The artistes from the film who were feted are Edison Fernandes, Claron Mazarello, Franky Gonsalves, Pradeep Naik, Fernino Goes, Virginia Morais, Antonio Rosario Fernandes, Menino de Bandar, Trinidad, comedian Jimmy, Franky Gonsalves, Remy, Tivena mazarello, Clinton Mazarello, Anthony, Elvis Mascarenhas, Kevin D’mello and Frazer Fernandes. A souvenir of the Konkani film ‘Tum Kitem Kortolo Aslo?’ was also released at the hands of chief guest.
Present on the dais were councillor of MMC, Ms Pratima Coutinho, the former chairperson of MMC, Mr Savio Coutinho, Dr Francisco Colaco and Mr Wilson Mazarello.
