PANJIM: A 20-year-old youth from Tamil Nadu, Ali Hermaan, who had disappeared with his family’s Mahindra Scorpio (TN01-AD-3342) from Bangalore, was traced in the city on Wednesday afternoon. Addressing the media, the police inspector, Mr Ramesh Gaonkar said that they were intimated by Tamil Nadu police that the 20-year-old youth from a Madras-based family, which had gone to Bangalore for a visit, had left them there after he had disappeared with his father’s vehicle.
The incident took place when the family had gone in their vehicle to a market in Bangalore where Ali, who used to demand money from his father to visit Goa, took the vehicle on the pretext of buying something and came to Goa.
The Tamil Nadu police informed the Goa police providing details of the Scorpio jeep and the person. The home guard, Mr Raya Mandrenkar, traced the boy near Punjab National Bank in the city, who was found chatting with some girls.
He was brought to the city police station and his parents were informed. In his statement to the police, he stated that he was friendly with a Goan girl, who was studying in Bangalore, and where he was also studying.
The youth had sent a message to the girl informing her that he had met with an accident and that he needed some cash urgently. Accordingly, the girl met him and gave him 16,000 to meet his medical expenses. The cash was withdrawn by using an ATM card of another girl. Ali’s father is a businessman from Madras.
Every missing criminal or missing person is bound to be found in Goa. What is going on? Why are the thieves sleeping in the assembly? The Konkan railway should be stopped as it only brings in criminals to enjoy their lives in Goa. Goa police are also sleeping.
