THREE DRIVERS ARRESTED IN THEFT OF PIPES FROM ZUARI WAREHOUSE

VASCO: Verna police on Saturday arrested three persons in connection with the theft of materials worth around Rs 90,000, from the premises of Zuari Industries Ltd (ZIL).
According to the police, an official from ZIL had lodged a complaint to this effect on Saturday morning, that some unknown persons effected entry into the warehouse of the company through a rear side door, on Friday evening, and stole stainless steel pipes, boiler steel pipes and other materials, collectively worth Rs 90,000. Verna police after interrogating security guards and some of the labourers of the company learnt that some truck drivers transporting materials from the warehouse were involved in the theft.
Upon interrogating a truck driver, Vikas Mishra, the main culprit, police managed to arrest his other two accomplices -- Vijay Kumar and Bajarang Bind, from Uttar Pradesh. The trio later confessed to the crime and the stolen property, which was sold to a scrap yard in Vasco, was recovered from there. Police registered the offence under sections 457, 454 and 380 of Indian Penal Code (IPC). They will be produced before court on Sunday to obtain remand. Police sub-inspector, Mr Sushant Gawas is investigating the case under the supervision of PI, Mr Jivba Dalvi. (NT)

  1. Another opportunity for Dalal Dalvi to make some more money. What happened to the petrol looters? No sign of any investigation, forget about prosecuting them.
