RIVER PRINCESS TO ARIHANT

PANJIM: The Chief Minister, Mr Digambar Kamat has said the contract for cutting and removal of River Princess would be awarded to Arihant Shipbreaking Company, which has qualified in the tendering process by being the lowest bidder, on Monday.
The Chief Minister told The Navhind Times that Arihant had quoted Rs 99 crore for removal of the vessel that has been lying grounded at Candolim since June 2000. The company has sought a time of 180 days for removing the vessel.
The Goa State Disaster Management Authority had recommended the proposal of the Mumbai-based firm on Thursday after it emerged the lowest bidder besides being technically qualified for executing the job. The company also has past experience in ship breaking.

  1. Besides the 99 crore how much does the cream over the amount cost?

  2. Does anyone still have energy to hit the keyboard and write on this chapter? How many times the Cowmuth Government will float tenders instead of floating the barge? With all the money lost and the coastline destroyed, is there anything happening more than that?

  3. Cow-muth as he is lovingly called, is only left with the option to now tender himself and his forty bum chums if the vessel is not done away with within the stipulated time.
