MARGAO: PWD minister Churchill Alemao said on Thursday that the views of the local legislators and the agitators will be taken into consideration while preparing the final draft of the NH-17 widening, which he said would be ready by November-end.
Reiterating that the government would strive to ensure that minimum number of houses are demolished in the exercise, Alemao said that union minister for road transport and highways Kamal Nath has agreed to restrict the width of road to even 35m wherever houses need to be saved. Stressing that widening of national highway is a must for the state looking at the next 20-50 years, Alemao said that if the project is dropped, Goa will stand to lose as the road widening project includes construction of three bridges, including the signature Zuari bridge. The cost of construction of the three bridges will be too enormous for the state government to undertake on its own, he said, while speaking to reporters.
Alemao further said that there will be only two toll booths for the Goa-stretch of the NH-17, one at Mandovi bridge and the other at Zuari bridge.
Regular commuters will be offered monthly passes at concessional rates of say Rs 500 per month, he said.
Hitting out at his political detractors, albeit stopping short of naming anyone, Alemao said that those supporting the agitation opposing the highway expansion were doing so to derive political mileage over the issue. "Else, where were they when I had raised the issue opposing the expressway years ago?" Alemao tellingly remarked.(TOI)
Mr. Chorchill,
ReplyDelete(1) - Where were all Goans when you opposed MOPA airport, and where are you now?
(2) - What are the benefits of this road widening to Goans? as against the detriments?
(3) - Is the cost of Construction of the three bridges you quote, more enormous than the cost of people's residential houses, toll burden on Goans, and the moneys pocketed by each of you chors? If that is so, then why have you forced unnecessary extra bridges over river Sal in your constituency?
(4) - Why do you point out at others that political opponents are ostensibly deriving mileage over the issue? What did you do with 'Save Goa Party' which stood for Opposing MOPA?
Please answer on what GROUNDS you release such press statements.
Chorchill, what changed your heart now when you were opposing the expressway years ago? That time, you were not the PWD Minister so you knew that your pockets won't be filled. Since now you are the PWD Minister, you are sure that the contractors will fill your pockets to full volume. What a dukor you are?
ReplyDeleteWhy should a single house be sacrificed to satisfy the central government? Our once peaceful villages have been turned into rumbling giants by first konkan railways and now the notional high ways. Does Goa need links for transporting thieves, murderers, rapists and drug dealers in and out?
ReplyDeleteThis 'DUKOR'(Churchill) is a bloody insult to us Goans. He is a traitor who has sold his body & soul for 30 pieces of silver. The Konkan railway has already done irrepairable damage to the ecosystem. These national highways will finish off whatever little remains of our Mother Goa.Even the Natinal Geographic magazine places Goa as a 'BIO HOTSPOT' on par with the Amazon. It seems that a certain type of crocodile is found only in Goa and nowhere else in the world. But wew Goans are shamelessly destroying this wonderful part of the planet and leaving our future Goans orphans.
ReplyDeleteI appeal to all NizGoenkar that we must all petition the Environment minister Jairam Ramesh to declare Goa Biodiversity Hotspot. First of all this will put a full stop to all mining activities and this is the only chance of saving Goa.Another point in our favour is that tiger sighting have already been made in Goa lately.
Can anyone please shed light on how we can go about this?
Goans should fight against the expansion of NH under illiterate chor PWD Minister Chorchill. His only interest is commission....10% 15% and presently it is 20%.Chorchill go to hell..you and family will cursed by Goans.
ReplyDeletePwd minister 5 lakhs one contract!!!How many Goan's do you want to cheat for each contract by giving the ganti's??!!AND DO NOT FOLLOW GANTI RULES!!!!
ReplyDeleteSince when Churchill knows what is must/not must for Goans. If these projects are pushed through then, after 20/50 years time Goa will be cocktail of ghanttis. Yes, ghanttis from ever Indian state will settle in Goa and we Goans will be in disarray. There was a time when church bells were used to warn Goans of upcoming dangers. Today these bells are silent. Now Niz Goanker is tolling these warning bells. Therefore my dear Goan brothers and sisters, we should all unite under Niz Goenkar. There is a saying “If you follow a Donkey there will be a traffic jam”. Just imagine if we follow 40 donkeys what will be our state. DOOMED!
ReplyDeleteWe lost our Golden Goa to Ghanttis only because of our elected uneducated donkeys .There are also some politician's chamchas who roam with them for food and drinks like beggars and act like their mouthpiece. We as educated Goans should have not seen DIGANDU KAMAT AND PIGHEADED CHACHULL AS OUR MINISTERS. D. JUSTIN
ReplyDeleteIndian Occupied Goa or IOG, when we are occupied by Indians, don't the Indian Ghattis have a right over Goa. (To eat and shit where ever they want)
ReplyDeleteJust imagine 100 men kidnaps a woman, these 100 men's have the right over the Women, to do what ever they want, that's the idea of kidnapping.
When the Tiger attacks it's prey , it's not to keep it as a pet, but for it's nourishment and nourishment for it's Cubs.
One Billion Indian Ghattis have Invaded Goa, don't the Invaders have the right to rape Goa, that's the main idea of invasion.
Goa was not invaded for the Goans, it was invaded by the Ghattis for the Ghattis.
http://barunroy.wordpress.com/2007/12/18/why-godse-killed-gandhi/
They say Gandhi was killed by Godse, Gandhi believed in non-violence, that's what is written by history makers, where Gandhi was the father, and Nehru the chacha, only two of them were given titles, the rest were not given no titles like Aunty, son-in -laws, Grand-mother or mother or Grand-Father and so on- How funny.
Some one had to get rid of Gandhi, if Gandhi was alive then Nehru couldn't go to war against the Pakistanis who gave us onions, nor with China who gives us cheap Electronics, nor could he destroy small Kingdoms in India, nor could he Invade Goa.
Now the Million dollar question!! who profited on Gandhi's death the most?.
We do see strange things happening in our gOLDEN GOA. The police ,politician and drug dealers involved in drug trafficings. The police beats and kills the innocent people. The Gua police and the illeterate politicians are hand in gloves to put the fear in the poor people, it's high time now for the people of Goa to come on road and challenge the evil force of police and politicians. The PORTUGUESE ruled Goa for more than 4 centuries and the people were safe and secure but when the GHANTTIS liberated Goa , the state of Goa slided to the lowest level.LONG LIVE PORTUGAL and the so-called FREEDOM FIGHTERS go to HELL.
ReplyDeleteThe NH17 and the 3 proposed bridges should never see the light of the day. If these projects comes the poor and the vulnerable going to suffer the worst nightmares. The chor and corrupt congress government talks about compensation, and full the people. The people of Goa should get fully compensated to their moneis worth and not according to the government's market price; people in Kerala cries as government paid them in thousands ,when their properties worth lakhs of ruppees. so, my Goans beware before government pounce on your properties. There is no laws as such that the government takes your valuable properties and compensate as their whims and fancies. If our cm DIGANDU KAMAT AND FAT PIG CHORCHILL plays fool with the people, they 'll be in deep trouble as their googagiri' days are over.
ReplyDeleteTo Chorchill Alemao,You are talking rubbish.Hope you know what you are talking.Dont try to fool the people of Goa on the NH17.The next comming assembley election you will know where you are going to be.
