UTAA ACTIVISTS REMANDED TO POLICE CUSTODY BY JMFC QUEPEM

QUEPEM: Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Quepem on Sunday remanded United Tribal Association Alliance ( UTAA) activists Govind Gawade and Malu Velip to 5 days police custody in connection with violence at Balli on May 25.
Meanwhile JMFC Quepem on Saturday had rejected the bail application of Govind and Malu in the case.  "We have produced both Govind and Malu to JMFC Quepem for remand and they have been remanded for 5 days police custody," said Praveen Vast, police inspector of the crime branch.
Govind and Malu were arrested by crime branch on Saturday for unlawful assembly, rioting, armed with a deadly weapon, disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant, attempt to murder, voluntarily causing hurt to deter a public servant from doing his duty. - TNN
