PANJIM: Police inspector Praveen Vast has been booked for threatening a special judicial magistrate (SJM) in connection with a case involving the death of a constable, police said Wednesday. In her complaint, SJM Maria Mascarenhas said Crime Branch officer Praveen Vast had Tuesday night tried to threaten her through an intermediary into deleting his name from the dying declaration of police constable Chandru Gawas, who consumed rat poison while on duty Friday (June 24).

‘I have also asked for police protection after I was threatened by Vast’s associate to change the dying declaration last night,’ Mascarenhas said, adding that the dying declaration was in custody of the local trial court.
Meanwhile, Director General of Police Aditya Arya summoned Crime Branch officers, including Superintendent of Police Mangaldas Naik and Deputy Superintendent of Police Chandrakant Salgaonkar on the issue. ‘The police inspector has already been booked for abetment of suicide of our constable Chandru. I had summoned these officers to know their side of the story,’ Arya said.

Chandrakant Salgaonkar is the biggest RAT of the Goa Police & a disgract to Law & Order.

Do the politicians have a hand in threatening Maria Mascarenhas? All corrupt police and politicians should be given a dose of RATOL.

ReplyDeleteYOu have taken away one life because of your in humane approach, you are still not satisfied with the blood that is on your dam soul and yet you try to take another down who is standing by the declaration made by a dieing person. How does this Praveen expect to see mercy by his creator? Such people should be sentenced to life without any further delay for they are not fit to live in a society.May be they should be thrown in a wild game park where the animals can devour them alive. What dignity do you have left in you to live in a society of human beings?

There are plenty of these GOONDAS in police uniforms. Some sell drugs as 'termites', others collect 'haftas' for their politician 'protectors', and some commit crimes as henchmen of the politicians. Who has made them undisciplined and criminals? Our politicians who order them to do unlawful things. Who elect our politicians to power? We, the voters in Goa. So who is to be blamed for this state of affairs? Mikky Pacheco was arrested for abetting suicide. Will the DGP Order immediate arrest of all the three police officers? Their arrest is warranted as they are threatening witnesses and even Magistrates.

Jivba Dalvi is also known to abuse his position of power as PI to proposition Girls & married woman, to go out on a date with him.This is done when they attend Verna Police Station to lodge complaints & seek justice.
Perhaps,it is time the the Home Minister should stop pretending his Police Force is great and get to the root of the cancer within it, for the benefit of Society and the greater good of GOA.
Instead of losing his hair, he may regain more.
I am sure this Praveen Vast is the protector of the politicians and not the law. When SJM Mascarenhas was threatened by him to delete his name from the dying declaration of Gawas and when she refused to give in to his threats, this Bas**rd Vast must have run to the politicians who in turn send their goondas to threaten her. SJM Mascarenhas must be given full Police protection by law abiding policemen and not by the ones who might try to stab her in the back. This idiot ghantti Vast must be brought to justice and sentenced to life for murder.

I ask you people one thing... would any of you commit suicide if you were not given leave... chandru was granted leave from 2 days before his marriage... but the politicos are making it look as if he was not granted any leave at all. I dont believe his excuse at all.. inface for 2 hrs before he consumed ratol he was on phone with some woman. also when he was admitted to the hospital a false name was given and the woman who admitted disappeared from the scene instead of staying with him. It is very possible that once someone found out that a police constable had attempted suicide he sent an SJM close to him to record a dying declaration which was then forged. I find something very fishy in this case... I can't believe this unless i would hear chandru's own voice which is now impossible....
