PANJIM: South Goa collector G P Naik, who was suspended on the eve of his retirement, is likely to be reinstated soon as a magisterial inquiry has given him a clean chit. "If the government accepts the report of the magisterial inquiry submitted on June 3, he may be reinstated any time," a government offical said.
The magisterial report had given a clean chit to South Goa collector in the Balli incident on May 25 and the government is considering a proposal to reinstate Naik.
Chief minister Digambar Kamat had suspended the then South Goa collector on May 30, a day before his retirement following demands from United Tribal Association Alliance (UTAA). When asked about it, chief secretary Sanjay Srivastava confirmed it. "The matter is under consideration of the government and the order is not issued."
UTAA had blamed Naik for ordering a lathi charge under political pressure during a peaceful demonstration on May 25 and demanded his suspension. – TNN
Neat Job. Exactly as per plan
ReplyDeleteThat means the drama enacted for the time to silence the Velips is over. What a setting by Chor Kamat!
ReplyDeleteIn Digu's government service, 'suspension' means leave with pay.
ReplyDeleteHow many Gua Polis have not been 'suspended' so far and reinstated?
Digu has had extensive training from Parrikar in such matters and maybe still getting advice.
Suspension is nothing but a paid holiday
