PANJIM: Former tourism minister Francisco 'Mickky' Pacheco has demanded that the police register an offence against the three police officials from the crime branch, who have been named by constable Chandru Gawas and arrest them. "Chandru Gawas, in his dying declaration before the special judicial magistrate, said that crime branch officials DySP Chandrakant Salgaonkar: the dirt bag of Goa Police, senior PI Sunita Sawant: an unfit police officer and PI Pravinkumar Vast :the goonda cop. had tortured him and forced him to take the extreme step.
A case should be registered against these three officers and they should be immediately arrested," Pacheco demanded. He also met DGP Aditya Arya on Wednesday morning in this regard. Pacheco claimed to know about the persons named in the dying declaration despite the special judicial magistrate making it clear to the Panjim police that the constable requested his statement not be shared with the police or anyone else. It had been submitted in a sealed envelope to the chief judicial magistrate.
To this, Pacheco's former officer on special duty, Lyndon Monteiro, said, "From our sources we have found out that these officers have been named in the dying declaration. The SJM was herself present at the Panjim police station to lodge a complaint that she has received threats and she is being pressurized to change the constable's dying declaration." "The law should be equal for all. I was tortured by some police officers and put behind bars, even when there was no complaint filed against me. Till date the police has no evidence against me. In this case the constable has made a dying declaration and the family members have lodged a complaint," Pacheco said. Pacheco was arrested in 2010 by the crime branch in connection with the death of his friend Nadia Torrado. He was charged with abetment of suicide and culpable homicide not amounting to murder by the police. DGP Aditya Arya said, "Mickky Pacheco had come to give a complaint and the same has been forwarded to SP (North)."
Arya admitted that immediately after the constable was admitted to the hospital, he had called DySP Salgaonkar, PI Sawant and PI Vast to his office and sought their explanation. "We have lost one of our constables. On June 22, he had applied for 59 days leave from July 6 and it had been forwarded to the MT section for approval. He acted in haste. If he was troubled, he should have approached his senior police officials, including me", he added. On Wednesday, Gawas's body was handed over to his relatives after a postmortem was conducted. The Panjim police have written to the chief judicial magistrate (CJM) requesting a copy of the dying declaration.
Strange. After Evading Justice for abbeting someones suicide with Rattol. Mickey is Demanding Justice for Others????????. Mickey should be the last man to speak in this case.
ReplyDeleteHi Mikky is it a Lion’s Roar or Lamb’s Bleat either way join the band wagon as it could benefit you and Viola for the next election. Will the three police personal be charged at your command? If they are then you will have earned some respect.
ReplyDeleteMr Pacheco dont bark at the wrong trees, finished the accussed police officers with the deadly ratol. The police force is so corrupt in Goa, the time has come to Babush to set the police stations on fire rather than stoning them.
ReplyDeleteLet no stone be left unturned . These so called police officers have taken law in their own hands. We need to act now, its been too late already. We have lost a number of souls under these men who are supposed to be custodians of the law but in reality have been nothing but thugs and Criminals. Unless we stand united now we will never be able to live a free life. These men in khaki mentioned in the dieing declaration made by Gawas should he held rersponsible and stripped off all their titles and put behind bars for life. Such police men are a living curse and society is not the place for them to live.
ReplyDeleteNizachogoenkar you are absolutely wrong in saying that Mickey Pacheco should be the last person to demand justice. It is his right as a citizen of India. Nobody is guilty unless proved otherwise. And there shouldn't be two sets of rules to deal with the same type of crime. This clearly speaks of vestedness of the Goa Police & the Congress party which is ruining Goa. Goa has become a place of crime specially since the Congress rule started in Goa and more so under Digamber Kamat as CM and Ravi Naik as Home Minister. Although I don't support Mickey in whatever he does, but in this case I fully support him and so should all the Goans.
ReplyDeleteMivkky is just another idiot out for Political mileage, at best he could supply Ratol to the three accused police.
ReplyDeleteJudging the law from a normal view, it should be equally same for all. I am not a fan of the Mickey Mouse and Mickey Mouse shouod be the lat person to make a move on this subject as he is equally responsible to loot someone's wife, keep her as his slave and untimately kill her.
ReplyDeleteThe question here is if the law was applied for Mickey, it should be also applicable to these three Criminal police officers who are murderers. They should be immediately arrested and put behind bars. The law in Goa have become an ass. It is the poor people who suffers at the hands of these law enforcing authorities, the actual criminals including criminals in uniform escapes. It is time that people should stone these policemen to death or give the law and in Goa to be monitored by the military. We have almost found that every police officer is corrupt and involved in one or more crimes, in amassing wealth through crooked ways, in covering crimes for money. In recent history we cannot forget the Cipriano episode where he was brutally killed, the recent killing of Melvyn where the pimp of the police Dalvi tried to "settle" the murder. The brutal beating and coverup of Geeta Parab at Bicholim Police station where DySp Bossuet personally threathened the family of Geeta and silenced her. The recent killing of the tribes by the rich and powerful where police themselves defended the criminals because of their influence from BJP stalwarts. The Goa Police should be shunted out of the State and manning of law be given to CISF.
As usual the Home home minister is silent and stoned.
ReplyDeleteThe law in Goa is never equally applied, political and monetary influence can find a criminal not guilty of the most vicious crimes committed. That also goes for police officers who falsely investigate such cases. Goa is become a cesspit for all type of crimes, What will it take to get Goa to its former Glory..
ReplyDeleteIf the Police could arrest Mikky for abetting suicide, why should he not turn the tables on the police now?
ReplyDeleteBecause the they are protected in their illegal activates
