Beloved Goenchea bhava, this letter is in appreciation for your efforts to create awareness for the Goans. Not for publication please but you can refer if you would like to.
Bravo to you dear Goenkar and to Praxy and others beside you. I do not know who you are but read a lot of blogs and comments from you. You are not a lone fighter for the cause of Goa but there are so many silent fellows who don’t have a voice or no access to communication. We can hear them, meet them read them. On my personal front, I have been educating so many of these ignorant fellows to make a change. Change will come but we may not see that in our generation but it is surely coming. There is a cold revolution ongoing within the people and the next elections in Goa will show a change. I will admit that to bring a change is not that easy, in the last elections, I single handedly drove away Alex Sequeira and Vijay Sardessai from a public meeting pod, there was a change of mood amongst the people. I was a hero for the real Goans for sometime. The reason they were driven away was that they were preparing ration cards overnight along with the village talathi who was beside them. Our local panch was beside, this is Goa. Who sell it, we.
The tide was going full against Aleixo and in favour of one of the Independent candidate until a few days before elections, everything changed. There were street parties, people were overnight given Gandhi’s, clothes and other things. There was silence in the wind. However, in the election results, not the worst happened. He just got 56% of the votes, it was his hub of 80% otherwise.
Therefore, I say, the change will come if we try to make a change. It’s coming, the cold revolution is everywhere in the air. But who are the betrayers? A few of us, ourselves. Just for 3 paisa a day from this election until the other.
