Sonia Torrado & Francisco Mickky Pacheco by Menino Fernandes

Very strange is the way of Indian democracy. An accused under police remand is being allowed to attend assembly. How could they do such a thing? According to the law and accused is an accused irrespective of his position in the society. Whenever a person is arrested for any offence booked against him, it should lead to his automatic dismissal from the service he is in. If an accused is an MLA he or she should automatically be dismissed at once. Leave alone termination our law allows the accused to attend the assembly session. Another blow to Mr. Pacheco is from Justice Britto who has refused to hear the bail application of Pacheco for the second time saying “Not before me”. This shows that Justice Britto is a good judge with moral conscience.

Sonia Torrado who unfortunately happens to be a teacher and her attitude is unexplainable. A teacher is a respected person in the society but Sonia with her recent acts, after her daughter’s suicide has degraded that profession. The other teachers may have to hang their heads down in embarrassment caused by Sonia Torrado who is now in the Police custody after her arrest on Thursday 15th July 2010. Destroying evidence and giving mixed statements! She should know by this time that in this world no one can go unpunished. It comes sooner or later. Still left are the brothers of Nadia. Last of all is Viola who will have to search for a new solace to hide her muddied face.

Police Inspector Sunita Sawant is an able and good officer, is shown by the aptness she has shown in this case. She was quick and fast for the accused all of them. They could not outwit this outstanding officer Sunita.
