FREEDOM FIGHTER’S WHINING HABITS
Our so called freedom fighters often indulge on Portuguese bashing even though they were better than our present politicians. May I remind these whiners that their numbers has increased much after our regretful liberation through paid membership of their relatives & friends and even some non-Goans who actually have not at all been involved in any liberation activities, as they can now enjoy government doles and benefits at the cost of real Goenkars. I say regretful liberation because of todays pathetic governance of our state, the Portuguese were definitely far better administrators than our present day corrupt, criminal minded politicians, law enforcement authorities and bureaucrats. And as shown these days it’s another sad plight that today my fellow Goans get so carried away by false flamboyance of criminal politicians that they don’t mind supporting them only because they get to enjoy food and alcohol at their cost.
GOAN MORALITY
Its a real shame a few supporters who depend on him for their daily bread are making a mockery of themselves by saying their MLA is made a target by his political opponents. What about the judgments by the Hon’ble Courts, now Goa should rejoice as the absconder who through his criminal actions made headlines for Goa’s Tourism industry has finally surrendered, only because the Judiciary has acted in the most upright manner. Goa police should not take credit for this as they made themselves a laughing stock with their inability to track him inspite of their alleged knowledge of his whereabouts. In same vein BJP leaders instead of mocking the police force must hang their heads in shame since they made ordinary criminals from Benaulim and Taleigao ministers and so must own moral responsibility for their criminal acts. And its hardly surprising that people like Soter(Convenient Scandal in Herald dt 1st July) are trying to fool the public by saying that sex scandal in Miramar went under cover when it is the BJP which closed the cases only to suit their need to come to power. Equally it is disgusting to read views of Vincent Rego (Why Micky? in Herald dt 1st July) wherein he questions the NGOs for getting involved in finding the truth even though the family members are not interested. Sorry Vincent such wisdom will not help people like Maya to think about the root cause of what our country is going through (“Mera Bharat debate” by Vincent in Herald dt 3rd July).
WHITHER OUR EDUCATION
It is with great discomfort I am forced to say that Goa may be the top literate state in India but surely it could be the least educated one. Just because Leader of Opposition and NSUI president have pointed out the lacunas in the police probe on politician-drug peddler nexus or for that matter on the ticketgate scandal, etc., etc., does not mean the people have to resort to caste, samaj and religion politics. Did Parrikar at any point of time use the phrase ‘Bahujan samaj’ or did he talk about the nexus on the basis of caste and religion? No, why then are people aligning to defend their political masters on the basis of samaj and caste, what has happened to our education in Goa, proves merely studying for degrees and certificates doesn’t make one educated so as to behave wisely in ones everyday life. And how can police summon anyone for exposing some nexus thereby suppressing one freedom of speech. Strange and disgusting indeed!!!!!!!!!!
